(I love the 'Cats as much as anyone, but I am disappointed by my fellow Linfield posters.  The last few pages were painful to read.  Awful posts by Linfielders met by polite replies from Wesleyans.)

Back to the Cal Lu game, the Cats made two blunders which kept Cal Lu close.  Terrible D on the Hail Mary, then the 'Cat receiver tipping the pass which wound up being intercepted and returned for a Cal Lu TD.  Those two plays kept Cal Lu in the game.  Otherwise, the 'Cat D looked very good against a terrific Cal Lu O.  Bend, but no break.

Josh Hill and the running game looked great, keeping the chains moving.  Anticipating seeing the 'Cats try to establish the run against Wesley.  I like our chances, even with the cross country trip.

I've seen countless games at CatDome, and I'd put this victory over Cal Lu as one of the most exciting games of them all.

Go Linfield!

Wesley fans,

Lever Street is 100% right on every point he said.   CLU was a very good football team, certainly deserving of their ranking.

I have done my research on Wesley and this should also be one heck of a game.    I just wish I could be there.

Any of you Linfield faithful making the trip cross country?

I will get this out of the way so I can talk football.  Every school has it's tradition, congrats on Linfield's.  Certainly a proud and deserved one, the 56 straight winning seasons is amazing.  My son graduated 3 seasons ago now and all I have done is become arguably the most traveled D3 football fan in the country.  I am not going to list it again, but journey over to the mid atlantic board and take a look at the games I have gone to this year.  I will have driven over 3K miles by the end of the season.  I like D3 football for all the great things that my son experienced at Wesley and we experienced also.  The Wesley folk know that I could have easily walked away very bitter with how some things turned out, but knowing that it is all part of life, the negative did not come close to the positives of the Wesley tradition.  So keep tauting your great college and all that makes it great, but remember there are many other great colleges out there doing a great job with their students and athletes.  Monrovia, Bubs, and Lever, I knew it would just be a matter of time before there would be some others that wanted to discuss what should be a great football game.  Altough I am sure the video does not do the game justice compared to being at the field, I found the game to very intense as I watched it.  Lever, I would expect any Linfield fan to like their chances, you don't get to be ranked 5th if you are not good.  We Wesley fans also like our chances, and in the end it is nice that they will play Saturday to find out who is better that day.

This is one of the reasons that I love D3 football. Until we moved to Wyoming this past summer I was a regular at Linfield games- 565 miles round trip on a Saturday. Still have my season ticket at the 48 in front of the post- just in case I'm in town. As a student I knew that players were students first- just like me. I became a life-long 'Cat fan playing drums in the band during the '84 and '86 Championship seasons. Sounds like you guys are establishing a similar winning tradition. I wish the Wolverines just enough luck on Saturday to say they played well against the better team. :)

After reading the bios of some of the Wesley players, I can clearly see why they are an elite Top 10 team.  They have some real play makers on their squad and this should be a real test for the Cats.  A long long road trip *(from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean), home field advantage for the Wolverines, and away from the friendly confines of the Catdome.  If the Cats are to pull a win they will definitely need to bring their 'A Game' on offense, defense and special teams!
LEAVE NO DOUBT

It's like somebody came on and bobbed these Cats' tails....

You guys don't got to get all lovey dovey just because a few Wesley (I thought that was an all girls college) dads started crying. I like the "Ski" guy though, he seems to get it.

Where's GHC when you need him? This is the only interesting thread I get to read now that bball season has started here in Spokane and we can't seem to get anyone to keep it within 20...

Sorry that I have offended anyone on this board.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

wesleydad

rat, missed the crying part, but it doesn't take much intelligence to be ignorant.  Everyone has the right to hide their ignorance, they should just keep their mouth shut.  Your comment about it being an all Girls school proves the point, why would we be in a football discussion if it was an all Girls school?

criswyly, did not offend me, but the attacks on the Apprentice school were unnecessary without first checking into who they are.  We at Wesley have great respect for them as hard working young men who want to also play football.  At no point did we ever say they were top notch competition, but I know the players that stepped on the field with them had great respect for what they did on and off the field.

I think Linfield needs to contain McSweeny to be successful. They have some weapons on offense and speed.

Yeah--if they allow QB runs like they did against CLU we'll be hurting all day.
Go Cats!

rat, missed the crying part...

All I see are excuses
Quote from: wesleydadkean is not ranked ahead of wesley because they are not as good as wesley.  won the game, but that is not all the pollsters look at.  only lose for wesley by 3 and a very sloppy game by them.  in fact kean would not be one of the top 4 teams from this neck of the woods.

Pot, meet kettle...
Quote from: wesleydadCludad, sloppy is a description I used to explain how Wesley played that particular game.  Cute one liners don't add to the conversation

Nice humblebrag too. Ok, you got me, this isn't even a humblebrag...

And I'm the ignorant one??? I guess sarcasm isn't popular in your neck of the woods?

Alright Cat fans, have fun not having fun on the boards this week with wesley"robot"dad...you know, people with aspergers tend to take everything literally too (one of the only things I remember from a psych rotation, what a waste).

Here's a suggestion to the Linfield faithful: after each score get everyone on your sideline to shout "BOOM" as loud as you can.  ;D

This UWW fan is rooting for you. I want to see a Linfield/UMHB Quarterfinal!
