Bobo, keep in mind that we played that UWW game without many key pieces to our offense. We were without our starting QB, our #1 wideout tried to play with a torn ACL (Ellis Krout),  and we were down to our 3rd string TE, etc. etc. etc. I personally felt that it would have been tough for Wesley to overcome UWW.....sorry for thinking they had a legitimate chance at doing it though. Which they did. And as far as the cannon thing goes, I personally do not know that much about it, but Im sorry that even mighty Whitewater isnt above the rules.

I miss a day and look what happens...fireworks!.

Looking forward to the feed on Saturday Pat, Thanks for all you do.

Bobo, the 2005 football game was a heck of a battle to watch.   One I will never forget.
Thanks for the heads up for this week.

Things are heating up I see, Put me in Coach!   I'm ready to play!!

Go Cats!
One game at a time!!
Leave no Doubt!!!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Dude, enough of the excuses. The guy you had at QB for more or less the entire year (13 of 14 games), actually had a better season throwing the ball than your "#1" the year prior in '10 (look it up, I did). It wasn't like you won games despite his deficiencies.  In fact, WC was probably in the semi's because of the good season he had (although he contributed heavily in the semi loss - 5 INT's if I'm not mistaken. Lack of any running game, -7 yards on 19 carries on the day, was also a major factor). UWW lost their #1 QB in the last quarter of the regular season and had to go through the entire playoffs with an untested, unproven #2 who had attempted something like 3 passes in his career. UWW may have complained about the seeding, but no one complained about a key piece of our offense MIA at the worst possible time.  They just went out, played with who they had and survived 5 games w/a W! Wesley had their chance, also, but couldn't get it done.

Wesley also makes good team sometimes look like cupcakes.

And this is turning your words around?

I have read on here this week from one of their infamous posters how they turn good teams into cupcakes.

Sorry to the NWC board for this nuisance. +k to everyone for the trouble.

Obviously you didnt do enough research. Look at the rushing yardage. The reason I said that was because McSweeny adds a demension to our offense that Sottilare does not and that is the ability to run at QB. Sottilare had a great season at quarterback last year, but I think with McSweeny, his running ability makes him harder to defend and allows us to do more.

Whoop dee doo, you guys lost Blanchard last year. Thats one man. We lost 5 or 6 of our starters offense. I think that if they were healthy we may not have won, but it would have been a much closer game. If you cannot really grasp that fact. I cannot help you there my friend

Concerning the Linfield-Wesley video feed, a great big boolah Pat.

Can only speak for myself, but Linfielders must continue to support those who advertize on d3football.com. Pat, you have many fine sponsors, but I'm particularly impressed that Eckhart Tolle chooses your media to promote his teachings. Having been chosen by him speaks volumes for your work.

Good job, and again, thank you.

I missed the 2005 Linfield-WWW game, but in the playoff category, the 23-20 2003 win over Wartburg was exciting. Game was played at Willamette, and Linfield had a solid lead in the third quarter, but Wartburg came back late to tie it up. With little time left on the clock, the Cats drove down the field and kicked the winning field goal as time expired. I recall a ton of fans at that game, and Wartburg brought a large amount of fans as well.

Andrew Lovell, D3 staff,

Thank you for the nice article about the Linfield-Wesley game.

Lemme kick the dead horse again...last year's St Thomas game was exciting as they come for this fan. A drive to tie on an away field of a higher ranked opponent with 17 seconds left, but lose on a fumble near the end zone in OT.

Not quite The Mishap In the Mud,  but exciting.

FACT? How do you know it is fact?

How come some fans feel a need to rationalize when their team loses? Why is it necessary for them to offer excuses, or to fabricate, and find solace in statistics to convince others that his team should have been victorious?

Waterboy, would you say as described above in your post had Wesley won?

Wish I had seen live the 1984 NAIA Title Game at McMinnville High School. With 18 minutes left, defending champ Northwestern(IA) held a 22-0 lead, before Linfield exploded with 33 to take the victory. I believe this comeback might be the largest in 1AA, D2, D3, and NAIA championship game history.

Indeed Wesley was short a few players and we all wish they had their full compliment of starters but can't have that game back. Our team will suit up and play it's best and thta's all we can ask.
