Fierce When Roused

While most have focused on what changes to the offensive scheme are going to happen in the Fowles era at Willamette, it looks like something else has changed too: the Bearcats' helmet.  If the graphics guys at Full Access Sports are to be believed (and they probably should), Willamette has ditched Speckman's "Flying W" logo and returned to an older "Paw Print" design that hasn't been used since the pre-Hawkins era.

Guess Fowles took some of Concordia's helmets on that last trip out to Minnesota.

Gray,

Nice find.  That's a very good upgrade to L&C's staff.

Interesting stuff in the Statesman Journal's preview of Willamette's season - including Fowles saying that Willamette will continue to use a modified version of the fly.

....seems perfectly logical that Fowles would do some modifications to the offense. I wonder if he's going to throw in the "hook and ladder" or the "statue of liberty"?     ::)

Yeah, something about using her football eligibility when she goes to law school at Willamette.

Probably wrong.  Probably just a rumor, you know.   8-)

Willamette at Hardin-Simmons on Sept. 1. The Cowboys under second-year head coach Jesse Burleson could be in a season-long battle with Louisiana College for the right to nip at Mary Hardin-Baylor's heels. HSU will look to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2008 and will rely on one-year transfer Logan Turner at quarterback and Devin Carver, who has been waiting in the wings to take over at running back. Turner won the job in training camp and started games at Division I-FBS Southern Methodist as a freshman and was a two-year starter for Southeastern Oklahoma State at the Division II level. Carver was third on the depth chart to Steven Rockwell and Derrick Grant, who combined for 1,783 yards and 23 touchdowns last season.

So I saw  that Coach Smith is going to be running the Offense this year---any story behind that?  Is Coach Nagel still around?

Yes coach Nagel is still there...saw him in action at last Saturday's scrimmage, doing an excellent job.

Well, something is amiss comrade. We'll wait to see.
Need to pound Menlo without giving too much D3 stuff away.

I'll take a 6-0 game however, like I always do.
