Yeah -- I don't start hitting it that hard until 3 ET, usually. And honestly, usually the first rankings are later than usual.

We have a new liaison (the NCAA bean-counter) this year. It's the guy who's done baseball the past few years. He's been sharp, in my opinion.

Having been a "bean-counter myself for years .. "they"/ US,  need all the love they can get.. :) :-*

Fair enough but I think most of us wish they would count their beans differently, right? :)

I'm yapping about Levell Coppage. That's one of the biggest stories on the site since I've been registered IMHO. :-\

Yeah, I think it's pretty interesting as well.  On top of three losses?  And the other student-athlete questioned in an attack investigation?  Small bump(s) in the road...or is Rome burning a bit?

The door is shut. Go cover soccer. I'm sure that will be fun.

OK -- I don't usually appreciate OB's snarky references but that was a good pull from the memory banks.

As expected--Cats ranked #1 in first Regional Rankings.  Pacific Lutheran comes in at 8.

So, is this when I start getting my hopes up for my Lutes in the post season only to have them dashed by the NCAA selection committee, or just forget it and hop on the Linfield bandwagon for another playoff run?

MonroviaCat

Speedy, Lutes have a decent chance but would be helped by a win vs. Whitworth and a few (or several) other pool C teams losing another game.

"UW-Whitewater Athletic Director Paul Plinske said he was saddened to hear about the charges. "Levell was a tremendous student-athlete for us," Plinske said. "He was transitioning to a full-time student to complete his requirements for graduation."

So how many classes did he pass when he was a student-athlete?

Just read the write up---reminded me of our road trip this past summer.  Need Breakfast on the drive out of Olympia and remembered all the talk of Country Cousins.  So we stopped in and the breakfast did not disapoint.  Not sure how the Cats manage to walk let alone play football after breakfast there but maybe they have a fixed menu or something :)

Neither does Tony Clifton.

"He was transitioning to a full-time student..."

Classic educational gibberish.

So this is the logical list for Pool C at this point?

Wabash (7-1, 0.607 SOS, 2-0 vs RRO)
Bethel (7-1, 0.658 SOS, 1-1 vs RRO)
Concordia-Moorhead (7-1, .577 SOS, 0-1 vs RRO)
Huntingdon (5-2, .605 SOS, 1-1 vs RRO)
Elmhurst (7-1, 0.545 SOS, 0-1 vs RRO)
Rowan (6-2...6-1 in D3, 0.508 SOS, 0-1 vs RRO)
Heidelberg (7-1, 0.430 SOS, 0-1 vs RRO)

...which leaves PLU, Lycoming, and Louisiana College on the table when the pickin' is done.

Hopefully by next Tuesday the fire in Rome will be under control and those bumps in the road definitely need to be investigated.  Until then, D3 football is  a honest distraction.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!
