So Wesley rises to #1 in SOS. No biggie.

To be expected.

Great job defense and much better job offense in the second half in finishing.

First half was just a series of incomplete drives....

100% agree.  Game could have been 70 something to 7....too many errors in that first half.  Need a better effort next Saturday.

Indeed---Pacific gave Willamette all they could handle today.  Matched them stride for stride--Cats better come ready or the Boxers may throw a wrench in our gears.

How much was it the Cats just not being "up" for the Loggers like against CLU or Willamette? Seeing the Boxers result today will surely make the boys up for Saturday.

But I realize that the votes are east of the Rockies.

Tired, old and inaccurate. Here's your west region panel, and remember Terry Horan can't be on the call when his team is being discussed:

Duey Naatz, co-chair Wisconsin-Stout Wisconsin Intercollegiate
Terry Horan, co-chair Concordia-Moorhead Minnesota Intercol.
Chris Brann Beloit Midwest
Scott Carnahan Linfield Northwest
Mike Emendorfer Wisconsin-Platteville Wisconsin Intercollegiate
Ben McEnroe Cal Lutheran SCIAC
Dan Runkle Dubuque Iowa Intercollegiate
Steve Johnson Bethel (MN) Minnesota Intercol.
John Welty Westminster (MO) Upper Midwest

Pat,

My simple math shows East of the Rockies = 7 votes; West of the Rockies = 2 votes.    Do you know something I don't?     Yes, I think Linfield has some respect East of the Rockies, but the NWC?    Dubious, at best.

The exact appropriate amount -- each conference with one vote (the chairs don't).

congrats to linfield on winning the nwc.  how do you guys think the 1 seeds are going to play out if linfield, st. thomas, and oshkosh all go undefeated?  I believe a bracket will be built around linfield, not sure who gets the other 1 from thomas and oshkosh.  mount and UMHB get the other 2 unless something really weird happens next weekend.  good luck next week and in the playoffs, maybe if we are on opposite sides of the draw we can meet again, this time in salem.

Yeah--built around Linfield unless they somehow find a way to screw us over (ahem flying to Dover in round 2) again......as for the other.....I think it's still OshKosh (as the d3football.com projections suggested).  I believe there is a geographical reason that St. Thomas doesn't work as a North Region team....STill, there are a lot of things that can happen in the last week.
Go Cats!

Does anyone think that PLU now has a better shot at making the playoffs now that 3 other potential Pool C teams lost this weekend? That may lay the groundwork for implementing Pat's alternative West Bracket?

Yes I do think they have a really good shot, but I think it might just mean we play them again in round 1....and Cal Lu is shipped elsewhere....or possibly gets a home game---the key here is that PLU to Linfield means no flight..Cal Lu is going to require a flight no matter what (either to L.A. or from L.A.)  If the NCAA actually springs for more flights to avoid a conference rematch in round 1 then I think PLU goes down to CalLu and the Cats get a true #8 team....but that doesn't seem to happen...  Then again, we could get a funky bracket like last year where PLU gets shipped to another bracket (to MHB or somethign) and Cal Lu takes another trip to Oregon....I really hope that doesn't happen because it's not fair for Linfield or Cal Lu and it's really pretty boring for the fans......

They definitely have a better chance and I think they should be the top Pool C team in the West Region. And if they get in, yeah, I'd expect them to play at Linfield.

If it is PLU, the matchup would be old school. From 1980-1992, the schools met five times in the NAIA playoffs.
