Hopefully these are the same sources that told you that Linfield and CLU didn't play in 1982..... ;)  I'd prefer that CLU moment :)

Yeah, my bad!!!!! Is it a sign of early Alzheimers when you can't remember recent stuff?...or when you can't remember stuff that happened 30 years ago? If I'm wrong about playoffs, it may indicate that it's when you can't remember either.  ;D ;D

They call early Alzheimers Parteimers. ;D

Honestly, even though I remember that press box being kind of cramped, I don't think it will be an issue. Wouldn't have said anything except someone else brought it up and asked for input.

In preparing a bid to host a playoff game, there are 2 or 3 separate NCAA manuals that must be consulted to be sure one has covered all the required bases. Among the many requirements are satisfactory facilities for an ESPN broadcast. Having worked in the Linfield pressbox during the 2011 football season, it is highly unlikely that there is sufficient space for an ESPN crew.

Exactly what is the criteria? in '82 '84 and '86 McMinnville high School held the championship game that was telavised live on KATU. Former Linfield grad Steve Arena of the station did the play by play. Since that time a new all weather field has been put in

What exactly is the reasoning ESPN won't consider the catdome? What is the reason Linfield did not bid on the game?

In  '82,'84 and '86 when Linfield won NAIA titles the Catdome field was unplayable so they moved it to McMinnville High school. The game was televised live by KATU with former Linfield grad Steve Arena doing the play by play. As I can remember the game went smoothly (except for the other teams) since that time the stadium has done a remodel with a new field and tons of parking as well as a new concession stand on both sides of the field. The press box appears to be roomy enough. Although I would prefer the Catdom, if the only way to host it would be a change of venue in mactown then I would support a move to the high school.

I don't know about the Hillsboro stadium but it seems a possibility. I think ESPN as well as the college should consider this option soon.

With that being said the cats need to focus on one game at a time to get to the Semi's or all this talk won't matter.

I think comparing a 1986 local television production to a 2012 cable TV production, even a regional game, is pretty meaningless. And getting all worked up over something Linfield might not have not filed for is pretty silly on Nov. 12.

If hosting the semi finals is contingent on expanding the size of the press box, I suggest we get out the hammers (we've got a month) and get busy expanding our facilities.  Remember the old saying...."Build It and They Will Come"....It will be an investment for years to come and just plain good for the Linfield image on the national stage~

DC1 or Wildcat'64, With your connections maybe you could make the call to get the ball rolling. You said it best..Just plain good for the Linfield Image on the National stage.. I know we can pull it off, Ill donate my time to help out. It seems that it's going to be a continuing problem which needs to be taken care of now, Win or ...Win we need to host every game that we have a chance to. And to make our boys travel to another field because of an inferior press box would be a travesty. Let's not let this slip away. Lets take this opportunity to take another step forward. Do it the Linfield way!

Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

I would think "the streak" is something that is a good advertising tool for all of D3.
As such, everything should be done not to dilute it like not getting a deserved home game.

....don't worry guys, there's plenty of room on top of the stadium where Ad Rutschman used to sit during the game. A little rain, wind, snow and sleet never hurt anybody.   :o

Hey Blue...not sure if this is a serious suggestion or not but there are already three cameras in that small booth during each game. One for the Internet game-feed and one each for game films of the offense and the defense. The roof of the grandstand is rather steep and it would be a substantial construction effort to erect additional space up there (tent or otherwise).

Also (Pat), given that Linfield has gone several rounds deep into the playoffs previously it seems quite reasonable to be concerned about losing home field advantage should we be so fortunate as to earn the semifinal privilege this year.

Guys (and gals), this is new to PC and the d3 staff.  I'll venture they get more info and at some point list all the playoff schools and their possibilities.
Come on! It's a Lute week for crying out loud (which is what we're doing). How embarrassing would it be to get beat while worrying about whatever?
We need to TCB and revenge the CATNIPS losses to PLU in the softball championship last spring.
