This game is extra interesting to me just because it's somebody new.  Just think how lucky NCC is to get to visit Linfield ;D ;D ;D

Good Luck Wildcats!  Now the fun starts.

Apparently the view on D3Football.com in their ATN podcast is that Linfield is ripe for an upset by NCC.

Also, in the D3Football.com article below, Jason Bailey, D3sports.com, writes that NCC is willing to pay extra to bring more staff etc. because they are anticipating a big payoff -- winning:

November 21, 2012
CCIW duo win in the air, on the ground
More news about: Elmhurst | North Central (Ill.)

An excerpt:
"And now North Central must fly to No. 3 Linfield (10-0, 6-0 NWC), which is 24-0 at home since 2009 and leads all NCAA divisions with 56 sacks this season. The Wildcats don't look invincible, however, after sneaking by Pacific Lutheran 27-24 in the first round.
Beating Linfield would be a program-defining win for the CCIW titan, which is willing to pay to make that happen.
. . . .
North Central athletic director Jim Miller said the school is spending $30,000 outside its general operating budget to transport about 20 extra people each week. Additional coaches, trainers, sports information workers and radio announcers are all included."

Should be a great game.

No one at NCC has said "because they are anticipating a big payoff -- winning." That is river's own comment.

North Central President Hal Wilde has been a strong supporter of the school's athletic programs. He has attended every football game as President. Hal is retiring at the end of this year and is the reason for their investment in not just the football program, but other athletic teams. It's good to have a President who recognizes the value of athletics at the D3 level.

I am sure this is going to be a tough game and NCC will bring their A game...but I wouldn't bet against the Cats 8-) 8-) 8-)

The majority of people in the pick-em's aren't. I am hoping for a great game from both teams. Where is the best place to eat after  the game?

Great ! You're coming?
You'll get tons of answers in awhile.
You'll need a wine country tour of 20 miles or so, then you can eat.

As reported on MSNBC tonight, The Ed Shultz show,  John Gagliardi is retiring as coach at age 86 at St. John's.  It's amazing how a couple of tough seasons can cause this great octogenarian coach with the most victories currently coaching football at any level in the NCAA to finally determine it's time to call it a career.  A great career he had indeed.

I'm not buying all the hype about NCC.  The Cardinals are coming to play Linfield at the Catdome.  NCC's 9 and Two LOSS record makes them very suspect IMO.  Scores comparison between Linfield, CLU and NCC doesn't make for a strong argument that NCC will top the Cats.  Personally, I believe this game rests on Linfield's attitude and our coaching staff's ability to make adjustments in real time.  We have the horses...NOW GO PLAY LINFIELD FOOTBALL..... ;D ;D ;D

Oh! BTW...NCC fans...Welcome to Oregon and the Catdome.  Hope you all enjoy yourself....but not at our expense :o

For either before or after the game, I recommend Geraldi's on Third Street. It's not exactly a large Italian restaurant, but the food is outstanding. My personal favorite is the spaghetti with meatballs and garlic bread.
