Gig Harbor Cat

Here is my take on the Cats Round 3 match

We all know that our O line is steller, so I have Inns throwing for 400+ yards on the day.  We are up by 17 at the half.

Our Salty D is in shut down mode.  Once again just like last week will cause them to go to the air and then the fun begins.  3 picks and 2 fumbles go our way.

This one is in the bank boys

Loading up the G5 with another load of Salt and purple frisbees, and of course old blue !!   Lets do this--

The first time I heard the term salty used was during my sons junior year at Linfield.  His coach referred to the Cat D as a salty group.  As to defining salty, you could say they are-- veteran, confident, have swag. bada$$, in your face, bring it, bad to the bone, etc...

On the one hand, it's just another Linfield-insider thing such as the "CatDome." (All Cat, no Dome.)

On the other hand, there is the old children's myth about putting salt on a birds tail to catch it. Also, salt licks are sometimes used by hunters to attact game. So (I suppose) if one likes an aggressive, swarming, head-hunting (metaphorically speaking) defense designed to defeat whatever is thrown its way it might be called a "Salty defense"...as it is at Linfield.

I can't remember when I first heard the term - but it has been awhile

Well there is that explanation. But then, there is the new, updated definition of what it means when one is, "salty."  Check out #1 and how it is used in a sentence in #2.   ;D 8-)

Thank you WC11.........

02, Thank you for the summary..... Until a team/coach can come up with a formation/offense so different/crazy from the "fly" that Coach Speckman from Willamette U and now Menlo used, I think the Cats will be fine. At least they are used to seeing something different ( play your man). It's a deceptive type of ball control. Now....A player like Wara, brings a lot to the table and brings things the Cats may, or may not have seen this year as does Voss. That said, I like our Cats at home in the Catdome's chances still the same. Our Coach's have done a great job of pregame preparing adjusting to the game as it play's out all year.   .....44 - 41,
Cat's take this one with a Josh Kay FG.......Cats by 3 +.
That's a familiar score............... ;D

413...look at #27

"Salty = Salt of the Earth sort.

A seasoned man, wise beyond his years, who is earthy, witty, pungent with manliness (salty if licked) and able to kick some a** should the situation renders itself necessary (like a drunken sailor)."

It's the time of the year the DenSLA got himself bannished for 10 days because ..... , well, after the season ends. Suffice to say a photo of a freshman 'CAT with a cast on his hand does not satiate one.
