:o....kind of boring around here....WAIT.....  :-*
waiting....

....don't hold your breath..... ::)
I think I must of...passed out.....how long was I down?  Is it September now?

Sorry, yes - you missed all of spring and summer.   And your team is now 0-3.  Any more questions? ;D

Yipsi--I live in Southern California---it's always Spring or Summer :)  (well we had that one week where the highs were only in the 50s I guess......).  If the Cats are 0-3 at the end of September then I never actually woke up from my breath holding induced coma..... :)
Go Cats!

Yeah, we have snow and tornados; you have earthquakes and wildfires.  There are, alas, no perfect places. 8-)

I dearly love Michigan, but as my wife recently joined me in retirement, we're seriously considering becoming 'snowbirds' next year. ;)  But I'll take our summers over yours any time!  And I LIKE seasons.

....since your retired, you may want to schedule a trip to Oregon or Washington if you've never been here....sounds like you'd enjoy it..... 8-)

Thanks for the invite!  Been to both states, but so far only once.

Mr. Ypsi,

Having lived through McMinnville, Oregon winters for many years, I now highly recommend Arizona for snowbirds.

On the other hand I also lived in Michigan (East Lansing) for several years. I found the primary benefit to Oregon over Michigan is that, during inclement weather, the stuff that falls from the sky runs down the drain right away. Not so in Michigan.  ;D

There are also other benefits living in Oregon versus Michigan. Lower crime rate, better roads, lower car insurance rates, fewer schools closing, and Portland's past mayor isn't in jail right now. People are leaving Michigan in droves, and there are areas in Michigan which look like ghost towns. I would also rank the people of Oregon above those of Michigan. I recently escaped Michigan, and leaving that depressing place was a happy occasion.

QuoteMcMinnville's local radio station, KLYC 1260 AM, will cease broadcasting on Friday, March 22 at 1 p.m. — 12:60 p.m. in symbolic station parlance.

Last August, veteran California broadcaster Dick Mason moved to McMinnville and executed a local marketing agreement with Bohnsack Strategies that allowed him to assume control of the station with an intent to purchase, subject to FCC approval. However, due to antiquated equipment, the station has been unable to meet FCC certification standards, preventing the deal from closing.

The station was founded by brothers Jack and Phil Bladine, then owners of the News-Register, which is currently being run by Phil's son, Jeb. It began broadcasting on June 18, 1949, with Mayor R.H. Windisher throwing the switch on its 1 kilowatt Western Electric transmitter.

The station has served as a daily local news source for Yamhill County. It has broadcast Linfield football and basketball games, as well as local high school football games of the week, interspersed with a locally programmed mix of oldies, country and classic rock music.

Hopefully, it won't come back on with banda music, but it very well could.

Some tragic news from Lewis & Clark:

Lewis & Clark football player shot to death in San Francisco

Damn...just horrible.  Things like this just shouldn't happen to bright young people.
