I'd say Linfield and PLU are gonna duke it out again this year---both squad return a ton of talent.  As a Linfield fan, PLU is the team that I think will be the biggest challenge for the CATS.

100% agree.  PLU will be dangerous this season (as they were last year).

Willamette lost a ton of seniors off their roster this past season and on their 2nd Off Coordinator in consecutive seasons.  They'll be solid but I wouldn't be surprised to see them slip a little.  Whitworth should be healthier this season which makes them better and Pacific will have their 1st group of seniors this year and should be even a tougher out.

The NWC will be very competitive but in the end it will come down to Linfield and PLU for the title.

Another National Title for the Linfield College athletic program. Since 2004, football, softball, and now baseball. That's very impressive for any level of college athletics. All three National Champs were also coached by Linfield Alumni. Congratulations to all.

Hard on the nerves but great job Cats on their Div III National Championship in baseball. I think I was able to watch parts of just about every game.  Thanks NCAA for the video.  Also enjoyed Pat's video recaps.  Great job all around.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Thanks. Can't tell you how many times I tried to refer to them as the Around the Nation podcast. :)

We all know that D3football.com is the "bible" for Division 3 football fans around the country.  With that said, the first of the Division 3 national preseason polls is out.
The Sporting News has tabbed Linfield as its preseason No. 1 team in a poll released this week.  #2 Mount Union; #3 UW-Whitewater; #4 St. Thomas; #5 Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Agree with that thought about D3football.com's poll being THE ONE that matters most.  Per-Season polls don't mean a ton to me either but it is cool to see the 'Cats being highly thought of.  I'm suspecting to see the 'Cats in the top 3-4 in the D3 pre-season poll and get number 1 votes.

A ton of talent but the 'Cats have a murder's row of a schedule with brutal travel to compound it.  It won't be easy.

Great to see the Sporting News bringing back their college football preview issue after a one year hiatus, they cover all levels of the game, including NAIA and JUCO. I'm old school, and prefer the texture of a book and magazine to the kindle device. Ironic to see Notre Dame's QB on the cover, grades cost him the 2013 season.

UMU in the West for the playoffs, eh, Blue?  ;D That would show a NCAA sense of humor to start off their new coach.

Congrats to Linfield for the national title in baseball! ;D I was fairly close to McMinnville last weekend when I did some wine tasting Friday afternoon at Rex Hill and August Cellars. Always great to be back in Oregon. My daughter graduated from Lewis & Clark Law School on Saturday.

LINFIELD has a sand trap schedule this season, no doubt.

I don't know what board to find independent Wesley, but I'm looking at their website and they do have a tough time of it to schedule DIII games. Still, they are going to be rated high.

Alfred State, their site lists them as NJCAA (junior college)  having been accepted into the NCAA.

Virginia-Lynchburg,(USCAA) is a national organization for the intercollegiate athletic programs of 82 mostly small colleges, community colleges and junior colleges, across the United States.
