Who is this guy?  Is he a disgruntled ex-Linfield student?

That's one of the most inane commentaries I've ever read.  Maybe I just can't read but I thought he said PLU has 76 penalties in only 3 games and Linfield has 21 penalties in three games and the WILDCATS have a problem????  I know last week we had quite a few penalties but averaging 25 penalties a game seems unlikely.

Nevertheless.........GO LUTES!

Yeah--if you read his other posts he says he was on the team until September 11 when he chose to quit the team to focus on being the editor of the "Mooring Mast".  If this his the quality of his writing then I can only imagine his skills on the football field.....

I checked our stats page, we've had 17 penalties on the year, 10 the last game.

Against Eau Claire we had too many avoidable ones, e.g. procedure calls.

Doesn't look like either team has an advantage in the penalty phase of the game.  We'll have to just beat you some other way.

What up with the Lutes being just over 50% in the red zone?  That's not a good stat.

MC, I just finished reading further on his blog. Oh jeez, he's one of ours.  ::).  The "Mooring Mast" is the PLU student paper.  I do respect his choice though.  It is d3 after all and if your sport will interfere with your ability, as you see it, to pursue your career, then I agree with his choice.  I suspect he's pandering to his readers some and trying to come up with the "this is why we will win" this week commentary.  I'd rather just here what he really thinks will happen, good or bad.  Right now he's probably just still to close to the team to really do that.

I respect his decision but am shocked that (even if he is close to the team) came from a "journalist".  Ignore the obvious weak argument about why PLU will win and you still have a poorly written piece.  You can make weak arguments and even be completely wrong....but do it with style at least......

Fellow Lute so I'm going to cut him some slack.  If he was with the team a year and a half he's probably just a sophomore so he has time to improve his journalistic acumen.

...LOL!!! at least some of his prose is rather colorful:

QuoteLinfield has savagely beaten opposing teams to a bloody pulp during these first three weeks of the season

;D

specially since we likely eschew the FG fairly often and go for it on 4th.

Alright I'll lay off him.  Just for fun though google his name along with the word bagpipe...

I figured that was code for "running up the score".  Which by the way I don't think your guys have been doing.  Plenty of backups getting significant playing time, just your backups are better than their starters at that point of the game.

MacQuiz

Pat...I'm trying hard to find a path to the "soggy" interview you did with Scott Westering after the game at Eau Claire.  I can't seem to get there from here.  Lot's of game pics but no "one on one" interview that I know you had with the PLU skipper.  Please help with the right path.
Thank You! ???
"THE METTLE'S IN THE MEN!"

...another funny one:

QuoteLinfield has been strong both offensively and defensively, but penalties have been the Achilles tendon of this team.

LOL!!!!

That didn't seem to hurt us much when we were beating the bloody pulp out of everybody.....  ::)
