What's going on, guys?  Is Linfield any good this year?

Hey Duff,

Yeah I think Linfield is pretty dang good this year...and so is PLU.  Willamette has been better than I though (considering what they lost last year) and Pacific has been playing solid football with a big roadie game for them at Whitworth.  I think the NWC is very strong this season so it should be a fun one to play out.

Some good analysis there.  Cory stole my thinking on the 'big play' defense.  Last year Linfield had 13 sacks in the two PLU games and five 'takeaways' in their playoff game (including a pick-six).  If the Mooring Mast kid was looking for a glimmer of hope in the stats, he missed that those defensive categories are down for Linfield so far.  But that matters a lot less when the Wildcat offense is scoring like the Oregon Ducks.   

The 'red zone' differences are really concerning.  We'll have to finish drives (and get a number of stops) to have any chance on Saturday.

Everybody around here is excited as heck for the game this Saturday against PLU, believe me! It's going to be a barn burner!

Good enough, but the Johnnies have been better.    The SJU ship is being righted.  You'll get your shot in the next couple years.  I guarantee it! (it's still not gonna change the outcome for the Cats, though)

Wow--and he quit the football team to give use that?

Who is this guy?  Is he a disgruntled ex-Linfield student? 

That's one of the most inane commentaries I've ever read.  Maybe I just can't read but I thought he said PLU has 76 penalties in only 3 games and Linfield has 21 penalties in three games and the WILDCATS have a problem?  I know last week we had quite a few penalties but averaging 25 penalties a game seems unlikely.

Nevertheless.........GO LUTES!

Yeah--if you read his other posts he says he was on the team until September 11 when he chose to quit the team to focus on being the editor of the "Mooring Mast".  If this his the quality of his writing then I can only imagine his skills on the football field.....

Don't be so hard on the guy .....I might want him to autograph that article so I can hang it up in the cat cave ...and use it as a dart board
