Seriously.....Maybe they should ship Wesley all the way across the country for a rematch.... :)

After watching PLU-Linfield games since 1985, it is rarely boring.   PLU will bring their A game to us.  It was close in October until the 4th Qtr.

Congrats, Wildcats; a great game today in Salem.

I'd prefer to play new teams in the playoffs. PLU is a great team but playing them twice is rather redundant..... from this fans point of view. I'm sure there are those from PLU that feel the same way. The NCAA used to claim that they would not have head to head conference games in the first round of the playoffs. And from what I've seen, the NWC is the only conference in the nation that has had this occur.

This could be interesting....I'm not totally sure on this, but I believe that there will not likely be a playoff team within driving distance of MHB this year.  A logical opponent would be to ship Redlands out there.....but seeing as they already played each other that would make for a 2nd (at least) rematch (assuming PLU at Linfield) in the first round.  Now they could just ship Redlands somewhere else (Wisconsin or Iowa) but it could also open up the door to sending Redlands to Linfield and Plu to MHB.....If they have to do 2 flights anyway, why not?  Of course this assumes these teams all get in and that I'm correct about not having a team to drive to MHB.....I'm sure somebody smarter than me can say if this is correct (or why it is not).  :)

Oh--I'm smarter than myself---if Texas Lutheran gets a pool B bid I guess they could go to MHB.....

PLU doesn't want to play Linfield because they'd like a shot at winning their first round game.

What the NCAA should do is send Redlands up to PLU and send a MN/WI team to Linfield. Then you can send the Lutes down to McMinnville  for their 2nd round beating.

Question: if St. Scholastica came to OR would Linfield put 100 on them instead of showing mercy like they did against the conference opponent from Portland?

I don't think they would try to put 100 on them....but it could happen....although isn't a St. Scholastica a running/option team--might eat the clock faster without all the incomplete passes....

Or possibly a team from Iowa. Would love to see Wesley make the trip out west also.

If St. Sco came there would be records reset for running plays and alumni suited up.

River,
Liked your club.  Its easy to see how they put up such strong numbers all year.   Get after Pacific next week.

Of course, Redlands already played PLU and lost....so that would still be a rematch with a flight to boot.  I kind of think if they don't rematch PLU and Linfield then they will fly Redlands to Linfield and PLU would get sent somewhere.....

That's the scenario that suits my fanDome best.

(But then we might have the solute scenario of Redlands ending their season at the paws of LINFIELD and an opening loss at the paws of LINFIELD next season)

I'm with you on that one Blue.  I also think it would help because if the second place team from any conference typically wins in the playoffs, then the overall strength of the conference is probably higher.

two weeks left and down to Linfield, Pacific and PLU.

I'll say PLU at Linfield in 1st round.

Please NO!  I'd rather my Lutes played Mt. Union then Linfield in the first round.  Not because going to Mt. would be easier then going to Linfield.  I just don't like conference rematches in the first round.  I know, I know, I'm just dreaming with the cheapskate NCAA.

Unfortunately, this is not going to change this year. Division III has run a deficit over the past two years because of travel to championships. Cost of travel is not going down. :(
