Lets just keep this simple.  Take care of business the next two Sat's.  If we draw a home game, show up and Rock the Catdome.  If we Travel, Show up and rock the Catdome, wherever it is.  This is one heck of a team, and I for one don't believe they have hit their stride yet.

Its in the bank.

Let's assume the 'CATS win the NWC AQ and the NCAA awards them two (2) home games, providing the 'CATS can beat teams other than the ones they've creamed so far.

Jet Blue has a $69 flight out of Long Beach on the 21st to take in the first round on the 23rd. Now, if one were to risk life and limb missing a Thanksgiving dinner at home one could theoretically dress up with a toilet seat over their neck and stay in swede's trophy room for a couple nights, a couple more nights as bluenote's guest in the shop using toner cartridges as pillows, and maybe a couple nights sweet slumber in the 5 ***** guest room at OldCatProf's joint.

Then one could take in the second round on the 30th. Jet Blue has a $69 flight headed south on the 4th ($540 the Sunday after Thanksgiving).
Any ideas on where to stay from the 30th until the 4th?
Between the bunch of us in mactown we should be able to provide your needs :) room is painted, flag is up, shelving today. I'm thinking of one of those new type air matress and frame. Store in the closet till visitors come to town. A separate restroom for guests.  Refer pretty empty but keeps the soda and beer cold ;D 42" HD T.V.
Free admission to Evergreen Aviation museum (compliments of my membership). Close to the college.

Our friend criswyly stayed for a few nights. cawcdad stayed as well.

Good grief. How many years in a row does Linfield have to play Lutherans in the first round? Isn't there some sort of mercy rule that should prevent this?

In the NAIA days of the 1980s, we played PLU almost every year in round one.   The winner usually went onto the Finals and often won it all!

As far as I'm concerned if the Cats are a Stagg Bowl quality team they need to have the capability to play  their A game at Home or Away no matter who the opponent might be.  If we don't bet home field advantage, let them go on the road and knock down the opponents one game at a time on their home field.....then we'll be ready to take on the Stagg Bowl task.  This is a very special Wildcat Team and if they bring their A game I'm very confident about their potential success.

Very well put!

Hello Boys,  Good job >:( :).

The way I see things at this time without any major upset next week..   ???   The winner of the Boxers/Bearkitties game will finish in #3 NWC this year..   Loser drops to #4 :o,  ...

So with a boxer win it will cancel the #3 :'(,#4 :'(,#5 :'( and even 6's :'( who picked the boxers to finish there...  With a Bearkittie win they will finish #3 and Someone has that right ON at this time..  :-*  Could be big for "the serial smiter himself"   8-) ;D :-*  S

So it will be for all the marbles in  the NWC pick'em contest results this year( again no major upsets next week)... :-*

First post... so excuse any funky elements  ;)

I could be wrong but I do not think that it is has been mentioned as yet that the Loggers have two members of their coaching staff that are former CAT players and both graduates of the LC Physical Education program. Out of respect, I would like to mention both of them who were truly  great representatives of the Linfield student athlete community.

Thomas Ford is now the Logger Defensive Coordinator. He was Special Teams Coordinator for Puget Sound in 2012. More importantly, he was one of the CAT Captains on our 2004 National Championship team. He also holds the CAT all-time one game rushing record and was named all-conference multiple times. Joining Thomas is Dan Lever, a former CAT back from Canby High School. He was known as Mr. Inspiration, or perhaps just, Mr. Energy. Dan is the Line Coach for the Loggers. Dan has a rich Linfield football connection, in part, because the Cat Dome is located on Lever Street, named after his grandfather who was a Linfield grad as well. If you are fortunate to be at the Cat Dome on Saturday, go out of your way to say hello to both these former CAT players and pay your respects. Go Cats!

I don't know the origins but the nickname was around in the mid 90's when I was at Linfield.  Whatever the original intent of the nickname it's evolved into a shorthand way of a Linfield person expressing their appreciation or excitement of the culture and values of the program (Team Excellence, Attitude, Class), identifying yourself as a Linfield person, or the actual location/facility of Maxwell Field/Memorial Stadium.

I'm glad I waited for 11 to answer this one---he did a much better job then I would have! :)

We've had discussions about this in the past....one other idea was that there is an invisible "dome" encompassing Maxwell Field that enlightens the fans and players with the mystique of all the generations of Wildcat athletes and fan karma, past present and future as a positive and uplifting force behind the Linfield Experience. Very similar to what Wildcat11 said but with a little visual dimension thrown in.

Gee Blue--now you kind of make it sound like Stephen King's book/TV show.... ;)
