I thought it would look different if you're going to build a new stadium. Maybe a little more architecturally interesting.
Only so much you can do if you are just using the basic box of legos. ;D

I have - that's why I was referring to the "basic" box. I probably should have said "starter" box. :)

D O.C.

Another Northwest county fair affair.

What about visitors? Let 'em sit in the rain or incorporated behind the grandstand pole?

I will forever miss the wooden grandstands and the seas of mud.

With the addition of George Fox (next year?) will the NWC finally be going to a 10 game schedule?

MJ,

There's nothing stopping teams from playing 10 games now and some teams do (Pacific, Willamette in the past, Whitworth) while others choose 9.

Linfield will be staying at 9 as it's hard enough getting 3 DIII non-conference games and 2 has proven to be tough in 2014.

But it would still be 3 non-conference games. With an 8 team league it's 7 conference games and then three non-conference. The reason I ask is because now they could still only play 3 non-conference games either way.

Yes, I understand.  That also means having to find that 3rd non-conference game and that means paying for a second flight across the country or playing a local non-DIII game.  I don't see the college administration being interested in either of those options.

Convince the coaches that 10-0 looks better then 9-0!

more like convince the powers that be that paying for a 10th game is worth it...and that's a hard sell (financially speaking).  As a fan, I'd love to see 10 games (though my wife would probably argue for less games). And if there was another D3 program within proximity then it might happen.....but there aren't.  All we've got are NAIA, and upper division NCAA schools.  And those don't look better (for the most part) than playing nobody....

Linfield got a #1 seed when they were 6-0 vs. D3 and 8-0 overall.

Convince those NAIA neighbors to leave the dark side! You can walk them through wonderful world of all things NCAA  ;) ::) Seriously though, it'd be great to pick up those teams.

That said, at least you guys don't have to pay the playoff travel with the NCAA! I know there's been years when NAIA programs turn down a playoff bid because they can't afford the travel costs. Or they aren't able to host as the higher seed because they can't guarantee the NAIA high enough gate receipts from the game. If it was a bidding war, SJU would never leave the friendly confines of Clemens come playoff time  :P

Linfield and PLU (and '97 Willamette) know all about the NAIA playoff bidding process.  The Tacoma Dome, McMinnville High School, and Civic (Jeld-Wen) Stadium in Portland each hosted a few title games.

I don't see any possible NAIA to D3 converts out this way; maybe College of Idaho.  Menlo just went the other way.  EOU, SOU, and any Frontier Conference members would join D2 long before D3.  And frankly, our conference hasn't been very welcoming to the local state schools.
