I can't imagine a scenario where this game is close. Teams who lose games to above average d3 opponents do not travel across the country and knock off someone as talented as Linfield.

Vegas would set this one at Linfield -27, O/U 63

509 please interpret that since I don't do Vegas...
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

criswyly....give me 20 bucks.  I'll handle it

Hampden-Sydney coaching staff knows this is a great thing for them. The first round win, the long distance travel, playing a very accomplished team are all things they will store and use as coaching tools in the future. The freshmen will know how it's done and be able to pass on their info the next couple of seasons.
It's hard to get to this point and that' ol Coast Guard will be gunning for them here on out though.

Wow Coach said we will hit them in the mouth and see what happens?  I guess you expected him to say we are going to go out the to give them someone to play as a warm up for UWW. I have been telling you guys not to expect anything but our best efforts. Maybe that's enough maybe it's not. But rest assured we are playing to win.

Our winning this game would be no less an upset than Shanendoah beating us earlier this year.  If any of you think we are not every bit as good or better than Pacific Ore (final score 28-22) your crazy. We are IMO the BEST team your guys will have seen all year.

Thanks to Wildcat 11 for playing the radio interview with our opponents coach.  According to Coach they're going to punch 'the Big Linfield Bully' in the mouth in the first quarter.  Well I'd be pretty cautious with that approach Coach because the Cats might just grab  11 Tigers by the Tail and not take that punch in the mouth very warmly.....could make the rest of the game real interesting after they throw that punch to the mouth!

Ok your right. We'll be cautious. That makes more sense.

Linfield -27 is the spread. If you bet Linfield, you are saying that the Cats will win by at least 27 points (hence subtracting 27 points from Linfield's final point total still gives them a W). If you took HSC, you aren't necessarily saying the Tigers will win, but that they will not lose my more than 27 points.

The O/U is the "over/under" on how many total points will be scored by both teams in the game. For example, the Baylor v Ok St O/U was 80 points (which was high considering how well both teams' defenses had played up to that point in the season, even with the high powered offenses). Final score of 49-17 means you won if you took the "under" since the point total was 66.

Pacific is not only a conference opponent (where familiarity often breeds more competitive games than expected, much like your Shanendoah loss), but they are also a top 30 team. I don't think anyone outside of HSC supporters would pick the Tigers over PLU in a neutral site game. Heck, a neutral site matchup with Willamette or Pacific would probably be a "pick 'em" if betting lines actually existed in d3 sports. So your opinion is one I guarantee you share only with a handful of your peers.

All that being said, I am the single most neutral poster on this board at the moment. I am not a Linfield alum nor a Linfield fan. I lovingly hate all of the Cat posters on this board and their team  ;) I think most of these guys will attest that even my Whitworth analysis predictions are pretty unbiased and that I have a decent knowledge of d3 football in general.

I may very well be wrong. It wouldn't be the first or the last time that happened. I just hope that if you are traveling to the game this weekend that you spend a few days taking in the Willamette Valley sites/scenery, so that you can say your trip wasn't a complete bust  ;D

This is the best the HSC crew can do? Unless I've seriously underestimated HS or overestimated Linfield, this game might the closest thing to a second-round bye in this year's bracket.

Someone said that Nance Nash (Nash nance?) sounds like Andy Collins, and I imagine that comparison is probably pretty right on. His strong legs will come in handy as he's running for his life.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

We've said multiple times that basically whoever won the Linfield/PLU game was going to basically be getting its first two games out of order -- its second-round opponent first and its first-round opponent second.

Hi Catville Mayor,

Sorry I can' be at the Deluxe tonight. My beautiful child bride (still so after 50 years) has obligated me to attend a different cultural event tonight at Gallery Theatre. So have an extra one for me (beer, hamburger or french fries...or all three). See you at the game tomorrow.

Go you Wild Cats!!!
Not so much you Tiger Cats.

Mr. Mayor,,  did you get the orders from Coco and GHC   about the FIRE DRILL TONIGHT ?  ;D

I still have a farm for sale but , no takers yet ? ;)
Never got no darn orders.  I Love Fire Drills and of course any Fire Drill needs an official ambassador to ensure that things are kept in an orderly fashion or at least some facsimile of an orderly fashion.  If I do not receive any word I will see everyone in the morning for the Blue Jug ceremonies.

Speaking of drills.  I would also take PLU and more than likely Pacific and Willamette over HSU at almost any site except HSU.  Even at HSU, I would take PLU by more than a handful.

I am sure it will be a great game and on any day things can be different, but tomorrow will not be just any day.  I am not sure I would go with the odds, but then I would not bet against the odds either.  The game will come down to who commits the turnovers and I think HSU is in trouble.

Only if it's a Linfield basketball hoodie. Kidding, I know AD won't let the College do anything that would resemble support of the bball team.

If you guys lose to HSC you can send it to me and I'll post a pic of me wearing it on the 50 yard line of the Pine Bowl...
