Way to dial it up in the second half boys,  Big D broke out a new bag of salt (Salty D) and started bringing pressure,  that was the difference. Most impressed with #55 Hoff (DE) he really brought great backside pressure and killed the dive.  But then again I'm a bit partial to big DEnds that do that stuff !!

Props to the Tigers, they gave us all that we could handle. tough bunch.

Phone it in baby. NEXT !!!

Hey, NWC's posters!  Hope you are well.

GHC,  I seem to recall, you and, I making a pact some time ago, that the next time the Hawks and the Cats met, depending on where it was played, we would travel to each others neighborhood to hang out for the game.  Now maybe that was, specific to last years play-offs, but since this play-off game is at the Perk, I have no qualms about trying to hold you to it!   ;D  Any chance you are coming with 11?

And WC11, we will be tailgating with a heater and fire pit so you need to find us and we will make you the best Bloody Mary, or loaded Hot chocolate, depending on your preference.  I know you always have things to do but, heck, you are entitled to a little fun, too, along the way, aren't you?   8-)
"Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!"  Dennis Miller

Anyone care if the kid that was taken to the hospital ok?  I doubt it.
That comment is uncalled for.   It was a clean hit.   One of your players did a questionable block on our defensive player---and he now has to undergo knee surgery.

Football is a brutal game; sometimes players make mistakes in the heat of battle.   Players unfortunately do get hurt.   That entire punt return was magnificent football---the Linfield way---clean, hard hitting.

I of course am sorry that your player was hurt.    I am also sorry that we lost two good players in the game.

GO CATS! GO!

Good luck to the Linfield team on Saturday. Enjoyed the NW experience and playing a school with the history enjoyed by Linfield. Hope to see you guys again next year but in Virginia. I enjoyed your beautiful State but that is along way to travel for such a short stay.

WC11 will be flying out, so you will see him.  He will have to represent.  I really want to make this trip, but have to take care of my business,  year end is brutal, especially this year !!  Should be another great game--  Have a blast.

LOL!!!! Hahahaha!    ;D

HS, I think the "ha ha" was for the commercial showing Max w 3 TV's on his head and not for the punt return.

There were some serious hits on the return, I hope all are ok.

Thanks for the explanation Monrovia.

But that being the case, it sure seems like someone's off their nut somewhere when
the #2 team in the nation is #3 in their own region and the #1 team isn't even in that region.

Not saying anybody got hosed here, but you'd think think they could be more consistent than that.

Anyway, go Cats!
Have you sen their stadium? If both teams are unbeaten, and quarters or semis come around, it's about the Benjamin's. Their student body is huge and will be out in force.

If you think the stadium is impressive, wait until you see all 10,000 of those UWW student/athlete football players take the field in uniform. Of course UWW is sooooo good, what tiny D 3 school can match that roster?

Curious as to the enrollment at Whitewater? Tuition?  UWW is good enough to be competitive in D2 perhaps even get a honorable mention in the polls.

dahlby

UWW's D3 football page shows enrollment around 10,000. Can't help you on tuition, but is way less than a private school.
Also, being a state school, probably easier to qualify for scholastic dollars. No negative meant against state schools.

Thanks Dahlby. I would think it woiuld be easier attracting the student athlete and no negative from me on being a State School.  :)

D3FOOTBALL.COM has us around 9700 but I think that's a little low.  I think our actual enrollment, taking all students into account, is just over 12,000.

Tuition is free.  :D  Seriously, tuition for a Wisconsin resident (not including housing and a meal plan) is about $3800 a semester.  Adding housing and a mid-range meal plan increases it to about $6800.  Most financial aide awarded is based on income.

Let the nonsense begin.

Our enrollment figure, the 9,790, is full-time undergrads. That way we're comparing apples to apples across all 245 schools.

Please let's not have this conversation again. There is no reason for UWW or any other state school, large school, small school, cheap school, rich school, or idiot school from being a D3 participant. D3 rules govern certain things, none of which is a "type of qualifying school" in these aspects. For all intents and purposes, UWW is not the largest school in D3, and maybe not the cheapest, although defining that, especially for athletics, is a tricky business.

You may think UWW has an advantage, and in some ways UWW may have an advantage, but it is not any kind of advantage that is prohibited by D3. On the other side of the coin I think Johns Hopkins has an advantage because who would say no to them with a decent aid package? But that is also not prohibited provided the aid is not based on athletics and the athletics department does not provide outsized aid to athletes.

In other words, UWW is a D3 school, the WIAC has been a D3 conference since at least the early 80s (maybe longer, but that's the first mention I quickly found). There is no reason UWW should leave D3 unless they choose to. Anyone suggesting otherwise either doesn't understand the rules governing D3 or simply refuses to accept what has been in place for roughly 40 years.
