Wheaton DC Rod Sandberg will be new Whitworth HC

Go Bucs

Seems like a very good hire for Whitworth.  The NWC is stuffed full of coaching talent.

LOVE MY 'CATS!!!!

Tuxguy

Does the NCAA track football injury's? If so is it by team? By position? By injury?
Now, I'm wondering if a team has inflicted more career/season/game ending injury's then most are they investigated for dirty play?

Wondering where I'm going with this? No sour grapes, just IMHO. I believe if the Cats had drawn a different 2nd round game they would have been much healthier against U. WW. The chop block before the half takes out a D lineman. And how many Running backs sprain an ankle after the play at the bottom of the pile.
Sorry for my late 2 cents, but Ive been wanting to ask this for a few weeks now.
Best of luck the the Warhawks this week, it should be another great Stagg Bowl.

Merry Christmas to all in D3 land!
Go Cats!
Leave no doubt!!
One game at a time!!!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Want a 10th game with little travel expense and hopefully improve the 'Cats SOS. Schedule a non league game with PLU  ;D

With that said. I wish eveyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year :)

Seems like another win over PLU every year would worsen their strength of schedule. ;D

Ok...in order to be a more better student of the game I have a question.

I tried doing my homework about the playoffs, the selection process, SOS, Etc, etc.

Cutting straight to the question would be if UWW and UMHB were both #1 seeds, both undefeated and the main difference I can conjure from my limited knowledge base is that UWW has a (much) higher SOS rank.
How is home or away decided in this (or any other case for that matter)???

I got nothing better to think about for awhile....

Follow the money......unfortunately the way the "committee" works is kind of like the NSA. They do what ever they want, for what ever reason they want and they aren't accountable to anyone. That's why MUC hasn't played an away playoff game for the last 10-15 years.

Exactly! MUC could lose four games next year and would stiill get an at large birth and the #1 seed in the weak East. At least Whitewater had to get it done on the road at UMHB.

Wow...MUC did not play anybody from the east region this year, so get your facts straight. SJF played a competitive game against UMHB, whom lost or could have beaten UWW from the west. As far as your conference represenative, they lost a competitive game against UWW, but also was scared by an unranked south team in HSC.

Also, FWIW, MUC had to play three legit teams in Wesley, North Central (Ill.)., and a good Wittenberg team. All three of those teams IMHO were better than HSC.

My point is that they are usually afforded a softer and rather easier road to the NC game year in and out. How may road playoff games have they had to play in the last 15 years? I would love to see them get put in the West and see how they do. Might be a different result if they had to travel like 99.9 percent of other schools in the playoffs.

More like 96.875% of other schools, but I understand. Do I think the Wesley and North Central games would have went another way, if played at their homes, yeah. However, with the budget, we can't do anything else.

D O.C.

The rest of the nation - especially the island folk - want to see U Mount U up close and personal. They could be like the 20s Yankees and take their show on the road. That would not be to their advantage though.
The island folks are not going to spend big holiday bucks to go to the Stagg Bowl.

I predicted correctly Redlands would win the SCIAC. I predict next year Chapman will finish #1

swede...why would Linfield want to play PLU 2 times? I'd rather play Menlo since it doesn't mean anything.  8-)
But maybe if we beat them twice in the regular season we wouldn't have to beat them again the playoffs :) Of course then, why would PLU want to play us twice?
Go Cats!

OldCatProf

Hard to know who to root for tonight...MU or UW-W. Guess you always want to root for the guys that beat you so that your loss looks better in the end.

But, having seen both MU and Whitewater play on their home fields this year I think Whitewater is the stronger team. Tough, though, to evaluate because MU was playing such a weak team. It was kind of like trying to judge the Cats this year based only on the opener at Hardin Simmons. Was the drubbing they dished out just a quirk?

Net, my money is on Whitewater...both dollars. ;D
