I do like the hot looking uniforms of other teams.  It usually makes them look better than they really are....so when the Cats beat them.....it makes us look that much better

Well, I was curious and looked around a bit more.  It looks like it predates C. Klein and has maybe been around K-State for 20+ years as well. (There was one reference to it being painted in a press box and dated its use to the 90's.)  I kind of thought Frosty came up with it (several articles give him credit for it), but maybe he borrowed it via son-in-law Gary Spani?  Or some other connection?  I really don't know for sure.  I'd have to reach out to some guys who played for PLU in the 70's-80's.

Actually, one of my buddies I give a hard time to was Colin's best man (or vice versa). I've met Colin on a couple occasions. Nice guy, down to earth, exactly what you'd expect. I was aware of the PLU to KSU connection, but just wondered if EMA_ was running down stream or upstream. Spani may indeed be the connection. Guess we may never know who started it.

I'm a little late to the conversation but I wanted to add that EMAL was being used when I joined the program in '80.  It didn't seem to be a new thing that I remember.  All the upperclassmen knew what was meant by it.

I went to a kicking camp at PLU in 1980-ish (Ray Pelfrey).  I seem to remember seeing EMAL and hearing about it from coaches and players while I was there.  I could tell it meant something special to the PLU program even though I was a naïve, wet behind the ears high school player.  But I still chose Linfield three years later
