How do the Wildcats match up?

The USA College Football list has zero merit and it's shameful that athletic departments actually press release it....but that's a good question by River.

My answer is...I don't know yet.  Linfield is going to be very talented but we're going to have new faces making their 1st college start in key positions against a pretty good Chapman squad and do it on the road.

I think Linfield will be exceptional on the offensive and defensive lines and we have a boat load of talent in the skill positions (some proven and some not) that need to come together in a hurry.  We'll see it how it goes. Go 'Cats!

Agree!

Has anyone else seen the George Fox football billboard on I-5 just before the bridge? I took a photo to try and post but can't get it small enough...

"With UWW the likely No. 1 team, who should be No. 2 in the preseason?
Linfield
(259) 10%
Mary Hardin-Baylor
(874) 35%
Mount Union
(908) 36%
North Central
(278) 11%
Wesley
(158) 6%"

Are there that many more MHB and MU voters than LC voters, or is there a validly held belief among DIII followers that MHB and MU are that much better than LC?

The actual vote/point totals in the d3 preseason poll give nearly the same impression.  UMHB and MtU are virtually co-#2's.  And Linfield is several votes back heading a cluster (that includes Welsey, NCC, and Bethel) before the next obvious gap.  Not that it matters much, but kind of interesting.

I don't really know that much about who has who coming back, who has added who or whatnot but MHB was, in my opinion, clearly the second best team in the nation last year so my vote went to them.   I have a lot of respect for Linfield, even if the Cat Dome isn't really a dome ;), but I just thought UMB was a shade better.  How MU could be second with the defense they put on the field last year baffles me.  But that was last year and this year is a new one so the whole poll is interesting but somewhat meaningless.

My WARHAWKS will be competitive this year.  Whether we win our league, qualify for the post season and advance beyond remains to be seen.

Agree wit the statement above.

I voted UMU because if  they had long odds in Vegas for DIII who the Stagg Bowl participants will be...
Mary going for the field goal still sours me.  ::)
