Alright guys - here's to hoping we can get past our little quarterfinal slump the last few years. I think yesterday's win was huge going forward for this season and future seasons. I am excited for the game already. Widener will be the best offense we face, but I think our offense will be able to make some big plays too. Should be a good one.

And I just gotta say, Alex Hoff might be the best all-around Defensive End I have seen in recent memory. He can completely take a game over, like he did against MHB.

Finally able to return home from Texas (home is in AZ for the next 7 months). In addition to a great game among friends it was great to meet DesertCat1 and Grayfox. Both are interesting guys and I will now better understand their posts on this board. Overall it just a GREAT weekend.

GO CATS !!!!

PS: By the time I got home my wife had already booked me a flight to Philly and a rental car. I think it's because she knows how much I like Linfield football...but maybe she is just glad to get me out of the house for another weekend. ;D

Linfield Nation,

What can I say other than congrats. Your team played great and bounced back after adversity, no panic, sticking to their plan. Obviously, I wish that last pick would have not been thrown or had resulted in a touchdown. This ending again points to the biggest issues we've had, and that is our play at QB. In our last three losses, we are like 19 for 52, only 200 yards, 1 TD and 4 Int's. That is the issue.

But, y'all delivered your lumps and fought through the ones received, which we can't seem to do. Good luck, and bring home the Walnut and Bronze!
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Great win Saturday, Wildcats!     MHB is one tough team.    Thank you, Coach Smith for being such a superb leader, especially after the tragedy two weeks ago.

It seems many east of the Rockies still do not know Linfield.   One bad game and we get dumped on.    But, we have managed to win a few games, since 1956.  Road warriors now!

OK, now on the road again to another WIN this week!
Show the east coast what we have, Cats!!

GO CATS! GO!

I've been waiting for those all year. Baylor Mullins, the LB and Punter, played a little quarterback in high school, so I figured we'd see them soon enough, I just wish it hadn't been shown SO much. He was our MVP, just unfortunate that our offense couldn't have held up their end of the bargain, but it comes back to the relentless nature of the Wildcat D.

Onto the quarters where, for whatever reason, our cats seem to hit a roadblock- often self imposed with bad execution. Watched widener/cnu. Their d line looks fierce. I have to respectfully disagree with the assertion that their offense will be the best we've faced though...Travel is a factor, but the majority of the group is seasoned and travelled back to back weeks to so cal and Cleveland last season.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

No worries Linfields offense is the best O that the Pride will see this year, and the salty D will put them in 3rd and long all day. :D

spiritof86....good to see you back on the boards.

QuoteIf you find yourself in St. Louis, MO on any given Saturday please stop by my place and we can listen to the Linfield game.

I will run to your place and cover my head on the way.

Widner looks to have a tremendous defensive front (1st in nation in rush defense: 61.3 yards allowed per game, tied for 3rd in team tackles for loss: 10.1, and 6th in nation in sacks per game 3.67).  To top it off they are 4th in the nation in turnover margin and have a game breaking WR.

Add in the travel and the 'Cats have a huge task in front of them.  We've put the ball on the turf too much the past few weeks. Gotta clean that up if we hope to advance.

D O.C.

Agreed.
And picking one up off the turf turned out to be the difference in the Belton game.
