A little throwback Thursday. 1998 Linfield battled Willamette in a thrilling 20-19 victory as Linfield moved to 5-0 on the year and clinched winning season number 43 that broke the tie with Harvard and Notre Dame as Linfield stood alone. The moment was marked by the Linfield student ripping down the north end zone goal post. (It wound up in someone's backyard later than night at a party).

5-0 was a solid start for the 1998 'Cats!  Did they win the NWC that year?  8-)  :-*

(Forgive me...I've had very little material to work with lately.)

During their "Around The Nation Podcast" Pat and Keith mentioned giving Sam Riddle a "knickname"..... they came up with a couple and then suggested that perhaps the Wildcat fans might come up with something....so one possibility that I've previously heard on the board, might be "Sam the Man".  Any other suggestions, ideas, etc?
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Pat Coleman

Do come up with something better than Sam the Man. So many nicknames this day and age are just knockoffs of names. Is he Stan Musial?

Hmmm. I always thought that was the SOUTH end zone in the video. Live and learn, I guess.
It was good to find out (before the Willamette game this Saturday) that I need to head in the opposite direction (toward the other end zone) to get to Salem. ;D

GO CATS
   (the "wild" ones, of course)
