Having listened to the Willamette public address announcer all afternoon, it's hard to believe the Bearcats lost that game.  ;)

Then, there was the WU announcer several years ago, who kept repeating "IT'S ANOTHER WILLAMETTE FIRST DOWN".   Never mind that Linfield was 4 or 5 touchdowns ahead!    That guy was a crack up; I laughed every time that he did that.

Great game, Wildcats!    Now Whitworth.

Whitworth just squeezed in to the d3football top 25 this week. Sandberg is way ahead of any schedule I would have given the program to return to top 25 quality, and even though they may not actually be there yet (who can tell when La Verne is the best team you've played?), I'll take the recognition.

Linfield is still a couple touchdowns better than Whitworth (at least) but I like how Whitworth matches up from an X's and O's standpoint, even if the Jimmies and Joes aren't up to par...yet.

Its a shame this game won't be played on the nicest playing surface in the Northwest, I guess the atmosphere at the Catdome will have to do...

It's sad when they field turf a field right next to the stadium for you and women's lacrosse to practice on...leaving your game field a cow pasture

Congrats on climbing back into the top 25, even if it was at the expense of my Lutes.  I suspect it will be unfortuantely short lived.

Unfortunately, with the way most polls work, anything short of a Whitworth win (ie huge upset) and you're right. If Whitworth can keep it within a couple touchdowns, they ought to stay in the top 25. We know MUC, UWW, Linfield, UMHB do much worse than that to folks ranked down there come playoff time every year. But with so many deserving teams I think any loss drops em right out.

That may be true of the coaches' poll but not ours. Ask North Central and UW-Platteville how it works.

Stretch Internet - Linfield Football

I've been reading a lot of chatter regarding Linfield's Stretch Internet/broadcasts. My suggestion to each and everyone of you who likes to complain about it would be to pick up the phone, call Kelly Bird, and ask him what he needs to get it up to the desired standard. If it is $$$ ask how much and then do a fund raiser. If it is time or people, ask about volunteering. If it is about technology, ask what they need and buy it for them. Quit just bitching.

And don't do it during the season when everyone is swamped. Wait until after the season is over. Be persistent as Kelly wears many hats. I'm guessing here but I bet KB and the rest of our GameDay crew would love to have any issues related to broadcasting our games resolved this offseason. We can likely make it happen with $$$ and manpower. We can't resolve it without people stepping up to help!

So... I'm a griper because I  don't like paying for a game.

Dang, nice hit. Anthony Hicks did something similar to me during our last scrimmage of the preseason. I still have a scar on my face from the chinstrap digging in as my helmet rotated around a little ways. I met him in the hole and got him down...but I paid the price for being too high and on my heels a bit. Ouch.
