Do we know how big that Tom Knecht led touchdown to begin the game last week was?
I think we do.

Someone at the Tacoma News-Tribune has a sense of humor: they pick Pacific to beat Puget Sound 6-2.

Andy Jamison - Walla Walla Wildcat

JHU ranked #8 in the nation... Been watching their game on vs McDaniel... They'd be #3 at best in the NWC this season... Can't believe they are ranked so high...they might beat Pacific... Seriously... Go check them out and tell me you see different...

Hmmm ... interesting. This was forwarded by a 'Cat friend. Should be easy to sort out, as according to the official count there were 3,327 eyewitnesses ;) :

Soaked balls at center of NWC controversy

By Robert Husseman

McMinnville N-R/News-Register

November 13, 2015

Linfield football can expect familiar conditions for its Northwest
Conference finale at Pacific Lutheran Saturday at 1 p.m.

Which is to say, rain, and plenty of it. A 100-percent chance of rain
is forecast for Puyallup, Washington, the location of PLU’s home
facility, Sparks Stadium.

Rain has poured on the Wildcats for its past two games, a 24-0 victory
at George Fox on Oct. 31 and a 72-3 victory against Puget Sound at
Maxwell Field on Nov. 7. To be sure, Linfield handled the conditions
better against the Loggers than the Bruins.

Wildcats head coach Joseph Smith believes part of the reason is an
allegation that George Fox did not substitute wet balls for newer ones
during the course of the Oct. 31 game. As with most pieces of sporting
equipment, footballs tend to absorb water, increasing their weight.

“Part of our issue in that monsoon game was, our receivers typically
do the breaking-in, so that’s the balls we’re always throwing –
perfect, brand-new ones,” Smith said Tuesday. “All of a sudden, we
didn’t get that.”

Smith said he corresponded with the Northwest Conference on the matter
and that the discussion has sparked some debate within the ranks of
NWC coaches and personnel.

“This was fairly contentious. A lot of pictures were exchanged, et
cetera, et cetera. It still came down to he said; he said,” Smith
said. “It’ll be addressed, I’m sure, but one of the parties involved
is pretty upset about it. Sometimes it’s good to let that stuff
settle.”

In practice, Linfield has proactively soaked footballs in tubs of
water before using them in snapping and passing situations. Several
snaps on offense and special teams went awry against George Fox, with
fewer such errors occurring against Puget Sound.

“We had video evidence this week of balls being switched (against the
Loggers),” Smith said.

“Obviously, we’re touchy about footballs. If you’re going to pass the
football, you have to have a reasonable object to throw and catch.”

I'm right there with you. They would be a #3 in NWC.

Just turned on T.V. to check out the games and see where Wabash and DePauw game is on. Wabash is up 21-10. very impressed with the DePauw QB.......perhaps its cause he wears #10 and can run the ball :). Think I'll go back to the Ohio St. Illinois game till the 'cats come on.

.495 Strength of Schedule = Panthers and Bulldogs.
Hoping it doesn't bite us.
Not much else we can do schedule-wise.
