Congrats to Linfield on another conference title.  Time to climb on the annual Linfield bandwagon for the playoffs,

I thought your guys played better than I've seen them play all year.  I think they will be back in contention in 2 years or less.

Glad we aren't playing Laverne in the first round?  ???
Huh?  I think we probably are.

I expect for St. Thomas to be the #1 seed in the West.
Their SOS is .500.
NCAA has them ranked ahead of us.
We would have to travel again.

Personally still have not gotten over the OT game back there where they kicked a field goal and we marched right down to lose a fumble on the two yard line.

Yep---hard to argue with the rankings---though I would argue that perhaps we should have been #1 last week (before our SOS dropped back down) because it was more ore less a tie at that point and we had the tie breaker.  But I think the SOS drop we had after playing PLU makes it easy for the committee to give St. Thomas the #1.  In the end, the home games are great but at some point we need to show we can beat these guys (Midwest powers) at their places.  This certainly looks like a team that can do that!

Well this Rusty Rae's
(thanks for braving the rain and cold)
slide show reflecting the workday seriousness of the players Saturday. (Of course, Rusty could have edited it that way).

If the West region voted, Linfield would not be #1.    We are far out-voted by the Midwest.    However, the NCAA national selection committee hopefully will see things differently.    Our long term results against the West coast, East and South teams might sway some votes nationally.

I do not expect it, but it would be nice to have 3-4 home playoff games.

Last, when will Mount Union ever have to travel for a playoff game?    Probably not until they lose 2 games in the regular system.

Congrats to the Wildcats for another superb year.

What a strange year in the NWC!    Willamette and PLU both finishing 2-5 in the conference??   When did that last happen?

George Fox winning 4 games in only their 2nd year.   Congrats Bruins!!

And Puget Sound going 5-2 in conference?     Congrats Loggers!

Although I will always want Linfield to win, I hope this year is an indication that in the future we will have 3-5 tough teams in the conference every year--- like in the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000 years.   It would be great if this conference ranked above  the national reputation of the MIAA and WIAC.

On what basis has Mount Union not earned home field advantage?  Victors and spoils and what not.
