Last, when will Mount Union ever have to travel for a playoff game?    Probably not until they lose 2 games in the regular system.

On what basis has Mount Union not earned home field advantage?  Victors and spoils and what not.

I dunno about George but I believe, that in the spirit of d3 being STUDENT athletes the playoffs should rotate amongst conference champions.  Granted this would take some thinking about the concept of how to do that since the same conferences don't match up every year, but I believe it is a doable thing.  Just my personal opinion.  This would include every round up to the championship in Salem.

MonroviaCat, prepare to post the "beating a dead horse link". 

I'm looking forward to the playoffs BUT conference teams should NEVER match up in the first round.  Playoffs is a time when we can compare one conference to another but the NWC and the Texas teams do not get that opportunity.  It's an unlevel playing field.  Preferably no re-matches from this year at all.  I'd prefer that conference foes only be able to meet in the championship.

Pat while likely say we should be happy with what we get but I think wrong is wrong.

Although you have your rematch...which I think it was predicated on the travel restriction, because I think Whitworth should have been UW-Plateville, you have a easy two rounds and third round that I think you guys would win early in the second half, then a possible matchup against Mount Union in the Stagg, unless you other West teams take them out...

I agree with you on both your posts.    But the the NCAA D3 rules, guidelines, etc. indicate it will not change any time soon, if ever.

Aside from the first game, I like the playoff setup for Linfield this year.

I missed the broadcast, so I assume that St. Thomas is #1 seed on our side of the bracket?    I was hoping they placed us as #2 seed on the Mount Union side.     I would skip the Stagg Bowl to go to Mount Union if Linfield was set for there.
