As a diehard Cru fan, Linfield rose and did what was needed to win and did it well, under control and decisive. Sure the snap to Blake could have gone the other way and into his hands and then who knows, but it didn't, They move on. I can say that from our side we all salute and have alot of respect for them. I think for me, when we hit 21 I said to myself, they're going to come back, stay hot, and they did, you gotta love their heart, that first 21 was enough to gutpunch ya. But also, the momentum in this game swung from side to side and that makes for a fantastic game. So thanks Linfield and UMHB for the just plain pure joy of seeing a great game, outstanding athletic prowess and a first class finish.

Don't let pat and his 'fortunate circumstances' bring us down...that was the best win at maxwell field in decades. The team fought when they didn't have to, Tommy Ice kept slinging if, and fun was had by all. Great win. We all need a night to enjoy it.

I thought if I said "luck" that it would be taken even worse but I guess it's damned if I do, damned if I don't.

I can't think how 'fortunate circumstances' for a totally unforced turnover (snap way over the qb's head) could possibly be interpreted by even the most rabid fan as a slur on their defense.  Aside from great hustle by Hoff to recover the ball, the defense had nothing to do with that turnover.

"Aside from the great hustle" oh...ok😉

The fumble itself had nothing whatsoever to do with the defense.  The recovery by Linfield was due to great hustle.

While obviously an imperfect science, I try to distinguish between 'takeaways' and 'giveaways' - that one was certainly primarily a giveaway.

The statement was "you guys needed an unfortunate circumstance to win the game".
Is that true?  Did Linfield need that circumstance to win the game?
I reckon you're right there wasn't a specific, single act the defense performed to cause the bad snap.  However, over the course of a season, and over decades of building a program with a winning reputation, Linfield creates an atmosphere that opposing players must execute within.  There is elevated pressure because of that.  And there is elevated pressure in the playoffs.  Championship caliber players will handle that pressure better, that's part of being a better team, imo.

I said fortunate, not unfortunate. Trying to keep it positive here!

What a day.  Props to UMHB.  They have some big time talent, came out scary strong.  I just don't understand how, with all of that talent they could fall into a mode where they had errors like, taunting, targeting, sideline flags, etc etc.  Then throw in the bad snaps and we could see that they were pressing as soon as our boys put up 14.
Mr Kenect came out of nowhere for 5 TD throws and almost 500 yards--  are you kidding me !!!  Great job young man !!

Next up--  Who Cares !!!

Phone it in, Cats move on baby

Wow what a game!

Looking at the Linfield single game record (they appear not to have any 2015 stats yet), here's how TK's effort ranks:

Passes attempted               54     3rd
Passes completed               38     2nd (tied)
Passing yards                   492     4th
Touchdown passes               5    10th (tied)
Passes had intercepted         3     8th (tied)
Total offense  plays             63    2nd (tied)
Total offense yards gained  501    4th

Not bad for our "backup"

Wow, I still can't believe what I saw.  Hats off to CRU and I really do think we got "lucky" in so many ways, but that happens in every football game, more in some than others.  We've been on the bad side of the "luck" factor many times so I'm just so thankful it was on our side today.  However coming back from a 21 point deficit in the first takes a lot more than luck.  That takes a mental fortitude so strong and so glad these Cats had it.  I know I was shaking my head and scared to continue watching after UMHB took that huge lead so early.
UMHB gashed us in so many ways and I think for the most part it was a credit to both their offensive and defensive prowess more than it was to our lack of skill or preparation.  Those guys can play.  What a game.  Next years non-conference game is going to be an exciting one to watch and I hope we continue this rivalry for a long time and unfortunately I think it's only a matter of time before UMHB starts getting some marks in the win column in this matchup.  Such a well coached team with great execution.
Thanks to the CRU for bringing it to the Catdome.  You guys represented and very easily could have been the ones moving on to the next round.  Your seniors did some incredible things over their 4 years and will have a lot to be thankful for and look back on.
Once again hats of to the CRU.  Thank you.

DFWCrufan and all MHB fans,
You are one tough football team.   Every time we meet you.   This has now turned into a great rivalry.   And you never quit.   I will try to come to Texas to see you next September, but it will scare me again, as it always does!

Congratulations on a great season.

Wow, what a game.   One of the five best Linfield games since I started going in 1984.

1984 - NAIA National Championship comeback from 27-0 down in 3rd Qtr. to win!

2003 - At Ashland, vs. Southern Oregon, umpteen lead changes and we score a winning TD pass in the last minute to win

2004 - Stagg Bowl win in last part of 4th Qtr.

2005 - The Game. Unfortunately a loss vs WWW.

2015 - Yesterday's roller coaster ride with MHB.

Congrats and thank you Wildcat coaches, players and fans!   What an electric and unforgettable afternoon yesterday.

GO CATS! GO!

One other thing.. Hey Linfield your play by guys were great, they did a fine job.

I'd like to give a special shout out to Kevin  Wilkerson and the broadcast crew as well.  I don't know if radio/media has any sort of student awards but that guy is really impressive to listen to.  I freaking stutter and repeat when I just try to give a toast to 5 of my drinking buddies during happy hour.  The sky is the limit for that kid, and he is representing the Linfield broadcasters and their storied history and all-star cast well.  The video staff did a wonderful job yesterday and really made the game easy and fun to watch, I'm not sure if ESPN's video crew will be able to cover it any better next week.  So a big thanks to Kevin and Dean Hanson and the memory of Bill and all the others behind the scenes and whose names I don't know and surely don't get enough credit.  Those guys make the experiences for us alumni viewing from afar so much more real.  Thank you!
