As any lifelong Minnesota sports fan would tell you, there is nothing worse for a Minnesota sports team than being favored or having any positive thoughts or expectations.  Terrible, terrible predictions.

That said. UST controls the line of scrimmage, UST secondary is better than the Cats think, and wins this one 35-24.

Based on the D3 front page experts today, we have no chance.

We will see.

Sure Linfield has a a chance. I've never understood why just because someone picks against a team, with a competitive score, that that automatically translates into "no chance." I think Linfield has a chance -- in my prediction, Linfield only needs one extra play to go its way.

Oregonian article on Tom Knecht:
http://www.oregonlive.com/collegefootball/index.ssf/2015/12/post_10.html#incart_river_home

I'm kinda surprised by one word in the article. I'm sure Tom doesn't know the true meaning...but that's where a copy editor should come in. Sorry if I'm being too 'PC'...

I'm sure he doesn't know the meaning and you are being too PC.  It is a quote.  It would be inappropriate to misquote him.

It may not be necessary - but it's possible to alter the quote in an appropriate way. "I kinda felt [robbed] of..." or [cheated].

Some follow-up:

For the printed edition of today's Oregonian, the editor and/or author changed that quote. It reads: "Knecht says he felt a bit cheated of a playoff run at Lakeridge" - and then returns to a few direct quotes from Tom. The story is on the front page of the sports section with a nice pic.

...okay, on to more important things...

My take on this game is pretty simple. I think LF team speed will prevail. I think LF will be able to stop run. LF by 7

If Linfield brings it altogether for the first time in 60 minutes Cats win.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

I'm expecting a whale of a game Saturday afternoon. Looking forward to it-should be a slugfest. It'd be nice to see both teams go at it 100% healthy, but at this point of the grind, that's next to impossible to achieve. The team that limits turnovers and plays the best defensively will be heading to Salem.

Safe trip to all who are traveling and continued health to all the boys lacing them up.

Does Linfield have other significant injuries beyond Riddle?
