Hawaii: Per source, Marc Moody, the former defensive coordinator / linebackers coach at Pacific University (D-III – OR), has  accepted a defensive graduate assistant job at Hawaii working with the defensive line - Hmmm..interesting...

Gray Fox

Will Pacific be getting an extra game because they are traveling to Hawaii for a game? ;D

So Pep  is planning in mid-July to take a solo cross-country three-week trip from Saxonville to the west coast and back with the itinerary including stops in:
Bicknell, IN
Lawrence, KS
Tulsa, OK
Austin, TX
Roswell, NM (Carlsbad Caverns)
Phoenix, AZ
L.A.
Yosemite National Park
Pendleton, OR
Bozeman, MT
Mount Rushmore, SD
St. Paul/Minneapolis, MN
Lac du Flambeau, WI
and back to Alfred, hopefully within three weeks!!!

The trip will serve as somewhat of a re-enactment (albeit a very different itinerary) of a family cross-country campiing trip Pep took back in 1966 that lasted three weeks and was such a memorable experience that Pep's siblings still talk fondly of our travels. Pep has purchased a number of accessories in order to turn his PT Cruiser into an RV or a one-man mini-house on wheels and is looking to set up camp when he's not staying with friends.

Pep enjoys visiting D3 stadiums...given Pep's tentative itinerary, are there any D3 venues that are "must see"?
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

If you are only making it to Pendleton, then I think you miss any of the NWC D3 stadiums.  I guess depending on your route you could swing up to Spokane and see the Pine Bowl (Whitworth) but I'm not sure it's a "must see" D3 stadium.  Very pretty but....
Go Cats!

Wow...what a great adventure for you all...please don't stop going West at  Pendelton...
As Monrovia Cat (aka: Good luck pancake man) suggests; the Pine Bowl at Whitworth University(Spokane) is a great first stop on the D3 Venue tour!
D3 schools offer something very special(as you know) when it comes to what we all love about
education excellence and love of the game.
With due consideration of a waste of time and travel...you can't miss the Pacific Ocean if you're going this far.  In Portland you could visit Griswald at Lewis and Clark.  It's really more of a Pine Bowl than the PineBowl.  Welcome to timber country!
Just 40 more miles SW  on Hwy 99 you find McMinnville and the Catdome.
Home of the Linfield College Wildcats.
Welcome.

+100 Dens.   I guess that the Linfield offensive line A-A would be the Kingsguard?  Also, Would that make Coach Smith an Archmaester?

Welcome.

All depends on how long the first leg of the trip will take....and how long Pep can delay production of the August 11 issue of the Alfred Sun. There are other Alfred University alums in the Northwest, one of which is in Portland so that's a real possibility. There are also some prospective students on the West Coast that Pep may just visit if the Admissions Office finds that to beneficial to the University.

Gosh, didn't those Linfield Wildcats help to eliminate Pep's Saxons from the Softball World Series in 2015?
