Wildcat11 would help you figure it out, but he is too busy chasing pokemon.

Time well spent, WC11.

Good morning, I'm looking to recruit someone who's hopefully interested in participating in this years West Regional Fan Poll. In an effort to keep this as unbiased as possible, I'm hoping to get a non-Linfield fan since we already have two on our ballot.

If anyone is interested please send me a personal message. It's nothing overly time consuming, it's just a matter of submitting your top 10 West teams one day a week (before Wednesday).

Thanks and good luck to all teams this season.

My 2016 pre-season picks:

1. Linfield: The heavy favorite but that game in Spokane looms large

2. Whitworth: Clear cut number two and building into a yearly contender

3. PLU: Expecting big rebound year. Have star QB in making and return 19 of 22 starters for team that played tough

4. Pacific: Loss 9 of 11 starters on offense including all skills starters, however defense should be good

5. Fox: Fox has a number of 4th year juniors starting and should take another step forward but have to replace Shaffer, could take 4th spot

6. Willamette: Returns much of the offense but not sure if returning so-so offensive players means much, defense should be good

7. UPS: Back to the lower rung for Loggers, only return 2 of 5 off line, 2 of 3 best receivers gone, and starting d-line gone.

8. L&C: Going to start showing signs of improvement and going to push more teams. Don't see many wins on the schedule but will be a better team.

Only diff I make is PLU 2nd.  Will be waiting for your expert analysis of the 2016 edition of Wildcat football. Are we going to see the film from first day of practice?

Nope...working on trying to wrap up some other Wildcat projects before the season starts...will try to get out soon enough.

This is now all old Whitworth news, but I kept putting off posting it and I'm the only "something other than basketball" Pirate fan on the boards I guess.

Bob Castle got a new gig running the re-branded Kalispel Golf and Country Club (formerly the Spokane Country Club) just down the road from campus. I would assume that his work schedule would still allow him to do home basketball games, but I don't think that's gonna happen. Good news is that Bud Namek will take his place. I've heard him call some Cougar games and GU basketball games and if he does a good job of learning a little about the conference and some of its recent history, Whitworth will continue to have the best broadcast in the conference.

Namek new voice of Pirate sports

And here is the Whitworth season outlook for some "sittin on the toilet figuring out your pick'em league standings" reading.

Sounds like the 'Cats were sharp. Young O-line is talented but needs more reps together. Overall, it sounds like it was worth everyone's time to get together.
