Central wins 50-49

dang it...Whitworth just isn't as good as people thought they would be.

Don't count Whitworth out yet.  I think Central is going to be better than people expected.  Last year's record would make you think it should have been a cake walk, particularly with the long travel for the Dutch, but we are still Central football.  I think Central has played 3 NWC teams and I want to say all 3 were OT games.  Maybe that is just wishful thinking for when we played PLU in the playoffs though.  I know we lost, my red colored glasses make me want to think it was also OT, but I can't say for certain.

I'd say 1,600 max of actual butts in the seats...

Can't wait to see the 'Cats in action this week....Chapman has been very very quiet....I'm expecting them to be a well coached and offer the 'Cats a competitive game.

Thanks, Speedy.  I thought I remembered that correctly.  What kind of odds are there that Central would play 3 different teams from the NWC and all three games would go into OT?  Put that one in your next NWC football trivia game.     Shoot, that means the next OT win goes to the NWC.     Guess we better go for the win in regulation next time.

I had to look it up.  Another amazing stat.  That was PLU's third OT playoff game in a row.  Lost to St. Johns in '00, then beat Whitworth and Central in '01 before ending the OT streak by losing to St. Johns again.
