.... as my friend BeanCounter has told me (and I agree) it's actually not a bad thing that we got spanked at UMHB early in the season. Now we know what we're up against on the national level against a top 5 team. It's better to loose early to UMHB than to get a win over a SCIAC team and have a false sense of accomplishment.

AND MENAGERIE.... LOL! I thought that meant a collection of terrible events.... HaHa! I guess it's some bizarre collection of wild animals like in a zoo or something.... well, that might fit too if you call turnovers wild animals.

.... this is that weird time of year again when most teams have played 3-4 games and we've played 2.  :-X

it is but it will all even out at the end...when we've played 13 or 14 games while most teams only get to play 9 or 10. ;)

Yeah--it is really the perfect time of year to have  2  1 bye weeks in a row..... ::)
Go Cats!

Is Lewis and Clark a bye week still?

I think that depends on who you ask.....

I watched a part of their game a couple weeks ago and it looks like they have a few more decent players and and the lines look bigger than normal. I'm looking to see if we've cleaned up some of the areas we had problems with in Texas like special teams, running the football and snapping the ball correctly. Of course L&C isn't what I would call a formidable challenge but you'd think with 2 weeks to clean things up there would be some more clockwork progression in those areas. I'm assuming a lot of the team will have a chance on the field this week which is good for the team.

I think even Locey would admit to that...

Anytime you get some work in to prep for the following week's opponent (I'm sure Linfield does because that's what we always did during L&C week), it's basically a bye week.

Andy Jamison - Walla Walla Wildcat

There are no bye weeks from here on out for the Cats... their execution in the run game, special teams, and defensive assignments needs to be much, much cleaner on Saturday no matter the competition.  Doing your job on each play to the best of your ability isn't something that is external. So far this year the Cats special teams have been terrible - punt return for a TD, kick return for a TD, blocked PAT, snap over the punters head, fumbled punt, poor blocking on kickoff returns...

DO.C. will be listening to the L & C game on his phone.
No other game all day long though.
Didn't bring my laptop to the hospital after I felt weird.
Appears it was a heart attack, 99% blockage.
Got a nice team to put in a stint and feeling fine.

Glad you got there in time - get well soon!

I've been twice taken off by ambulance for suspected heart attacks - fortunately, false alarm both times.  The second time I was pretty sure by the time the ambulance even arrived that it wasn't, but they don't take no for an answer!  They did such extensive tests (and kept me overnight for more), that the doctor said "We still don't know what it was, but if you die in the next decade or so, it WON'T be your heart." ;)

Here's to you, D O.C., for a speedy recovery.
