For those history freaks – like me – interested in such:

In Homecoming games, Linfield has an all-time record off 64-20-3. Homecoming began at Linfield in 1922, the first season football returned to the school after a 16-year absence; it became an annual event in 1927 – including a 1928 "Reunion" game in Portland (a 12-0 loss to College of Idaho) ... Linfield has won 19 straight Homecoming games, the longest skein of Homecoming wins in school history. The last defeat was a 20-13 loss to Eastern Oregon in 1996 ... in Homecoming games against Lewis & Clark, Linfield has a record of 9-2. The most recent Homecoming meeting was in 2009, a 59-14 Linfield win; the first Homecoming meeting was in 1946, a 43-0 Wildcat victory ...

Regarding the Lewis & Clark series, the 1927 game was part of a one-of-a-kind event in Linfield football history: a doubleheader. The Wildcats beat the Oregon City Independents in a morning game in McMinnville, then hopped the train to Albany and lost 13-6 to Albany College in an afternoon game.

Most 'Cat fans (and maybe most Pio fans) realize the last time Lewis & Clark beat Linfield was in 1973, by a 7-4 score in Portland; for one week, it kept Linfield from extending The Streak to 18 seasons. To be more specific, the date of the game was October 10, 1973; here's the Billboard Hot 100 from that week:

Wow!    I am so sorry, but glad you went to the hospital.   Take care of yourself!!    Maybe not listen to the game today?

I wish you well.

Just picking a nit here...but that's what we accountants do in retirement.
Didn't The Streak begin with the 1955 season? If so, the Wildcat win a week after the 7-4 loss to the Pios extended the Streak to 19 seasons. (Yeah, I had to count on my fingers.)

OldCatProf - you consistently know whereof you speak, so you had me doubting my count. I went back and double-checked, and the streak started with the 1956 season; 1955 was the last losing season before it began.

OldCatProf

So sorry, Catjumper. Just another indicator of creeping memory loss. +K for you, -K for me.

OldCatProf: no worries, as you're keeping me honest - and that can be a big job sometimes.  :D

Pioneer (hard swallow) Jay Locey showed DIII world something by running the gut. Got to fix that.
Anyone have info on why LINFIELD team did not stay on the field as usual after the game a couple weeks ago?

per the broadcasters---the seniors had asked for a private moment prior to returning to the field (I'm assuming you mean after the Chapman game?).
Go Cats!

Yes.  After my weekend I cannot be specific about much.

I am about L & C being able to run inside SEVERAL times.
