I'm with Bluenote. The first half, it felt like the 'Cats played with an edge and a crispness beyond anything I recall this season. just too bad to lose that 92-year streak.  >:(

Yeah, felt the same way....this is team that's been there the whole time but they just need to get out of their own way with the silly turnovers and ill timed penalties. It's a hell of a squad and even better when they play a clean game.

Happened to see tuxguy in a photograph from the GFU Saturday. Good.

... LMAO! so we have one home game and then on the road.... good... Road Warriors!....  ::)

No surprise that LC is on the road.   Heck, there is no guarantee that the Wildcats will have any home playoff game.   That horrible loss may have consequences.

Here is my wild playoff match-up for the West:

Round 1:

1.   UWW hosts 7. Northwestern
2.   St. Thomas hosts 6. Monmouth
3.   Coe hosts 5. St. John's
4.   Linfield hosts 8. Redlands

Round 2:
Winner of 1-7 meets winner of 4-8
Winner of 2-6 meets winner of 3-5

I think UW-Oshkosh will be moved to the North.    They deserve a shot away from UW-W.

George
GO CATS! GO!

Based on recent history....Linfield will be in a West Coast/Texas bracket.  Best hope is that the 'Cats get home games before UMHB but could very likely be out to Texas in round 2....

I can't help it...
A feature story a brewing if LINFIELD gets sent back in 2nd round.

I'm wondering if this year West plays East and North plays South in the semi's?

I guess that would really depend on who is East, West, etc.....I could see them setting things up so that MHB and Mt. Union are slated for the final (assuming they won all of their games) which would probably put North vs. East and West vs. South or something like that.....but who knows......and I agree----Cats will most likely be placed in a pod with MHB ("the island pod") so a rematch would be in the making (assuming both teams got there). Better yet--let's call it the "rematch pod" since it would probably have MHB playing HSU and then the CATS.  Talk about a raw deal for MBH--having to rematch two teams in the first two rounds....yikes!
Go Cats!

That would be a real raw deal for umhb, but no one ever said the playoff selections are fair. Plus, for us, it's absolutely all conjecture (when talking playoffs). All we know is that if the cats do their business over the next two weeks, we can all count on seeing each other at the Dome for a bulldog grilling on the 19th. That being said, I do see a scenario in which we go to uww in the 2nd round. We are the team no one will want to play.

I'm really intrigued by this team. Our offense panicked at umhb and has been a bit bored at times, riddle especially. As 11 pointed out, we need to clean things up, but I am expecting a 'November surprise'. This team is too good to go out in the round of 16.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Curious to hear what that would be--the way I see it---HSU(or ETBU) is the only team that might be in the playoffs that can "not fly" to MHB.  Then after round 1 the winner of a NWC/SCIAC game will have to fly (or host somebody who flies)---I guess if they can't avoid two flights in round 2 then maybe we (or Redlands) go elsewhere but it seems like the way schools are clustered in the East and Midwest that they will probably be able to make teams stay on the ground with the exception of the West and South islands.....now if HSU/ETBU somehow don't make the playoffs that could change things completely.....
Go Cats!

That's something I was thinking about digging into today if I had time. Depends on the SAA/ODAC/USAC winners. If Wash U. wins the SAA, it will isolate the ODAC/USAC from the SAA. Could be like a few years ago where I think CNU or Hampden Sydney matched up with Linfield in Round 2

correct--in 2013--but that year they gave us a rematch with PLU in round 1 and sent Redlands to MHB (unavoidable first round flight).....  In the scenario you are looking at they would probably still send redlands to Linfield and HSU to MHB and still have to fly the ODAC/USAC to the SAA (or something like that), no?
Go Cats!
