And thank-you for offering to take a pay cut in the 70s OCP.

(are you NW bound yet?)

'CATS!

Long story, but we sold the McMinnville home and are now full-time snowbirds in Sun City, AZ. Ed and Jan Langsdorf now live next door. Hope to get to a couple of Wildcat games this year.

It wasn't so much an "offer" to take a pay cut. The college simply announced that all personnel would take a 5% pay cut for academic year 1974-75. There wasn't much significant complaining. We all knew the dire financial straits of the college we loved. At the same time our family lived in a home owned by the college and the college raised my rent by 10%. Now that was something I complained about.

Still, that has not stopped me from being a motivated Wildcat fan for the many decades since. Thankfully, the series of excellent college presidents since those days has put Linfield on a much firmer financial foundation. GO CATS!!

I saw in the latest Linfield magazine that on football game day they are blocking off Lever St. and having live music, vendors etc and turning it into an exciting game day event.  Is this still in the planning stages or can we expect this for this years Home Games?

The members of the Bar West Classic have been doing that for 25 years so let it hang fire.
Should be a big event for the UMHB though.

Two months!

This year's home games.  Lots of fun changes for game day for fans.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to catch a Linfield home game in years, but maybe there are merchandising opportunities on both gamedays and during the year. This could help in generating some revenue as well. How about a shirt or hat commemorating The Streak, Linfield's four National Titles, and the number of Northwest Conference titles won by the program? In addition to gamedays, I would think a Linfield grad outside the state would be interested in making a buy from the bookstore website.

Got it!  It should be pretty cool to see what they come up with for the fans moving forward.

I cannot help but look forward to the season opener in my back yard.
A wild guess says the WILDCATS will have a tough defense.
Chapman had best have a great offense to keep from going 0-1 again.

Kudos to the Panthers for putting LINFIELD on their schedule.

Chapman will be ready and don't have any qualms about scheduling Linfield. Last time the Cats made a visit to Orange Chapman gave the Cats one heck of a game....Cats turned to a transfer #2 QB that night to get the job done and we all know the rest of the story.

Au contraire, Monsieur Desert Rat, there were 2 senior quarterbacks that could not get out of the 0-14 Chapman hole.
Then Coach Joe introduced the Gunslinger.
Chapman also peaked that season - and still came up short.

Just wanted to see if you were as sharp again this season.
