Former football player Samuel Wani claims school failed to treat his injury and ignored racial discrimination

Wani is seeking more than $70 million in damages, including $40 million plus medical expenses from George Fox, claiming "this is the amount of money I would be making in a six- to eight-year NFL career as a defensive end or linebacker."

There appears to be no record that Wani, who was 23 when he arrived at GFU, has ever made the roster of any college football team, but his interview with Johnstone mentions a recommendation letter that was written for him by the quarterback coach at Eastern Washington and that he also looked into playing at Washington State, Eastern Oregon and Linfield before deciding on George Fox.

This pretty much sums up the way our country works these days.

Just not George Fox football's week to be in the news:

http://www.king5.com/news/local/yelm-hs-coaches-accused-of-drinking-swearing-at-students-during-camp/456900665

Yelm Community Schools Superintendent Brian Wharton said the district is investigating claims that assistant coaches drank beer while they were off-duty during a football camp at George Fox University in Oregon in June.

George Fox did nothing wrong here but you just don't like seeing your name attached to things like this....also Fox football staff serving complimentary beer to the high school staffs after hours? Is that a Fox honor code violation?  ;D

Personally disappointed the Pine Bowl got rid of the turf.
The school believes it's for the better. Did they even take into account the rug burn a streaker could incur should they slip and slide on their way out of the Bowl?
I think not.

Have you guys read about the Lewis-Clark Valley Loggers? I saw that Pacific was playing them and as I had never heard of the team I looked them up. A really cool program from what I can tell and maybe a future 9th football team in the NWC?

Based on how they're set up, there is no way this club program could ever play in Division III. I know the coach there thinks it's possible but Lewis-Clark State already has membership outside of Division III and there is no framework for an athletic program to mix students from multiple schools.

The fact that three varsity programs are playing this club opponent is something I consider embarrassing for Division III. At least with Pacific it's on top of a relatively full schedule and it's basically a scrimmage.

LCV originally started by playing seattle area Junior College teams and after some sustained success made the jump as an NCAA independent. The other teams in LCV's league were all junior college teams in Western washington and the competition in that league is actually pretty good as I know the jc team located of Bellevue has had kids transfer to D1, and some D3 schools. The teams in the league play the jv teams of Northwest conference teams as well and LCV beat up on those teams pretty bad last year. LCV has a really good player at quarterback Rob Roth I actually expect them to compete pretty well with Pacific, not saying they'll win but I it think they will be competitive.

Pacific is a scrimmage.  These are JV games for the rest of the DIII schools...no varsity players will be taking part of the "JV" games.

And I'n not so naive that I don't understand the talent and playmaking ability gap between JV team and the 11 starters on gameday for a d3 can be large. I'm just saying this LCV team may be able to compete and make it interesting in no way do I think they have a chance of winning.

Heres the link to highlights to their 31-15 win vs Pacific's jv last year:
