Mr. Bluenote... you know by now no one gives player information on this board.

How can you discuss the game without player info? LOL!  :P
i can neither confirm nor deny that there was a game if such things even exist.

;D .... you already started Happy Hour?

Humbly beg to differ CalCat. With all that $$$ Chapman should have a video screen by now. You know the visiting bench is so far away from those home stands that we could not read the numbers. Just watching the middle of the field was 75 yards away.
Give me La Verne or Pomona for fan friendly. Chapman, not.

Doc l enjoy being above action being able to actually see plays develop as opposed to Pomona and La Verne where you are so low its hard to follow. We were pretty high up and we're able to see numbers of guys playing...seeing guys on visitor sideline not in game not priority for me but when they finish that side you will be able to see visitor numbers of guys not playing if it is important to you...of course you won't see home sideline numbers. Chapman will have video board for you in due time. Last time l checked La Verne and Pomona didn't have video boards and l wouldn't hold my breath. I do enjoy games at Pomona but l think it s because we played our home High School games there. I would take Chapman's finish field over Pomona or La Verne any day but that's just my opinion.

Ooohhh Boy....this is an interesting season!
We (Widcats) haven't had this squared away opportunity(challenge) for a while.  Maybe since 2008 or so!
YES...it's true, I'm leaving 2006 and 2007 out of this...get real!
Traveling squad includes 35 plus rookies....whaaaaatttt!

I'm so dang impressed with "The Linfied Way" after this difficult trip!

These guys are the best!!!

I will be flying out to Portland on Tuesday evening and will eventually end up in McMinnville. I will be doing some work and visiting friends prior to UMHB vs Linfield on Saturday.

UMHB's defense looked good Saturday against a vastly improved Sul Ross team. The Lobos have some playmakers on offense, but the Purple CRUsh defense was smothering - especially in the first half. I likened The CRU offense to a sports car running on bad gas. It spit, sputtered and, at times, surged, and did just enough to get a W. The UMHB offense needs a lot of work and must improve if The CRU is going to advance to the post season. Some believe a football team shows the most improvement between games one and two. UMHB fans hope that holds true for The CRU, especially on offense.

Linfield will be a real test for UMHB. We will learn a lot about The CRU come Saturday.

I think you can pretty much take what Kelly wrote and substitute "Linfield" in place of UMHB.  Two teams in similar situations.
Go Cats!

I love it when people underestimate the Panthers. Always a great time hearing bold statements from idiots who have no idea what they are talking about.

"Chapman will come no where near upsetting the Cats"
"Mexico will pay for the Wall"

All fabricated BS.

Hope you all enjoy your time down here for whoever is making the trip - if you need any food recommendations ill happily divulge some of my favorite spots.

Go Panthers.

I hope OC Guy learned a lesson on this one.

1) it's ok to disagree with someone on this board but calling names is not necessary  (oh by the way my buddy sent this idiot the Hudl link to the GW scrimmage) ...OC guy, I used to play the game, coached it, scout for H S team on 3*5 cards (old) , put two sons' thru SCIAC ...so I am not perfect just ask my wife but have an idea what it takes to win)
2) Even a down LF is two TD's better than CU on the road...
3) Did CU even cross the 50 in the second half cant remember? and in order to beat LF one must run for over 100 yards on the ground. I saw four sacks and zero knock back on the run. One long run and rest of the  run game was zip, tough for old Ricky ....2014 LF defense would have held CU to -100 yards.
4) on the Bright side CU, I thought your defense played better than I expected and D line looked pretty good.

Going Forward, LF you guys really need to improve next week or it will be a long game. You all have touched on the  topics....it will be interesting to see what the Cat Dome is worth.

Early thought on UMHB the 16th...
TJ cannot be given time to set his feet to throw down field.
Know that he's going to run so limit his chance for 1st down sprints.
Minimize procedural penalties.
Absolutely no personal fouls.
Get as many field goals as possible.
Play a whole game.
Have the most points at the end.

When was the last time Linfield lost back to back d3 games...or NAIA before we were all NCAA members?

That would be 2006:

9/16/06      Abilene, Texas      Hardin-Simmons 21, Linfield 6     Box score
9/9/06      McMinnville, Ore.      Western Oregon 28, Linfield 14     Box score

Andy Jamison - Walla Walla Wildcat

Wilder looks to be quick and fast and having him on the field with Fowler would be interesting... I can see him playing slot when he isn't at QB..

Who was wearing #35 for the Cats on Saturday?  Who is #27 that was doing the returns on kickoffs?  Been awhile since we had an explosive return game for kick offs...

Great win for the Cats!

OCguy

Well it was a good first half. The coaching and the overall athletic ability of LF was too much at the end. I was very happy we went into the locker room up. Losing our starting OLB in the second quarter hurt the pass rush effort and certainly contributed to some of the long runs in the second half.
Overall i think Chapman has a good chance to compete for the SCIAC. We have some real athletes who can make some big plays. I just really wish the coaching staff would make adjustments at halftime. It looks like the coaches went into the locker room and said "hey we are good lets keep doing what we are doing" instead of making scheme based adjustments.
I was happy with our turnovers and think that will be key if Chapman wants to have a shot at SCIAC.

Our D-Line looked decent but our O-Line needs work. Trinity will be another good game on the road. Lets see if we can get into the win column.

Olddog - calling you and idiot was mean spirited and i apologize. I'm passionate about my Panthers.
Good luck to the Cats the rest of the way.

OC guy, accepted...
I agree the Panthers are very much in the mix for the conference.....its a matter of how much each team improves going forward. Panthers need to establish a running game.
That LF team was not the same team as the last couple years, but still good. They will improve from week 1 to 2...
