Fox is for real... I'm thinking that they are going to be a Top 10 program and won't experience the fall off like Pacific... That is going to be a good thing for the league...

The Wildcat D is impressive. Offense did just enough to not hurt the defense. Kicker was excellent. Game reminded me of the loss to Whitworth back in 2007 or 2008.

I'm hoping that Fowler can get healthy not that he would have made much of a difference yesterday.

There's almost always a bit of a step backwards once the first class graduates. The key is whether a program can move past that and continue to grow.

Perhaps Get to Know A Wildcat section of WC11's blog will satisfy my curiosity.  I'm wondering if Noli was on that Southern Oregon National Championship team and how he compares the two programs and competition.

Yes, public applause for Ryan, who gave entertaining and knowledgeable picks at the same time! Thanks!

Nicely done, Ryan. That grill though; are you sure you wore a face mask with your helmet at Linfield?

Come on, guys. That's pretty funny. Even Ryan probably chuckled at that one.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Thank you!  I probably offended 3 or 4 fan bases in those short answers but I think that's a solid day in the office.  ;D

A little late on this, but finally got a chance to read it. Pure gold, WC11. Multiple legit home runs.

Maybe my fav was "I didn't know Mount Union played a game until the semifinals."

Although some years I'll give them the quarterfinals, too - this is something many D3 fans outside of UMU have an issue w/, while some from the UMU fan base get irked when this is brought up. No one is saying it takes away from UMU's greatness season after season, but their playoff opponents in the early rounds have often been cupcakes, while some other highly ranked teams are playing for their lives and having to open up and expose their playbook just to get to the next round.

Ticked is a good term for avoiding another FU shut out.
4 ticks on the clock.

Nicely done. And w/ the typical terseness for added strength.

I realize how frustrating our setup is for people trying to watch the game online both the cost and the ongoing technological issues seemingly involved every home game. I'd hope that every Cat fan who is on these boards complaining has also called Kelly Bird and Garry Kilgore and asked how they can help improve things. If we need new equipment then donate the money or ask your fellow posters to pitch in financially. My guess is that fixing the video issues is really down the list of things to fix in the athletic department's eyes. It might be fixed in time but likely would go quicker if some or all of you pitched in with a goal of specifically fixing the issue.

I can't comment on the video feed. I was referring to the number of times play was stopped in the game for what I assume were commercial breaks either radio or video.... not sure..... at least 5-6 times I counted. I've never seen that happen until this year.... ??? I always thought they just fit them in when they could but didn't hold up the game for them???

Whitworth has been streaming football games for free longer (and in most cases better) than the rest of the conference. They've never asked for money from viewers or alumni to do this. You guys are getting ripped off by your alma mater.

Conditions didn't help, but Linfield's offense made the Fox defense look better than they are. QB play Continues to be the thing holding the Cats back and Wilder makes me feel smart. You can beat a sacrificial lamb from the SCIAC but this Linfield team may not get out of the first round if they get HSU again...let alone a 2nd round matchup with UMHB.

I'm sitting here watching the NFL and thinking about what I saw for the 4th quarter (I myself was shut out for the first three quarters by Stretch Internet) with the FU defensive looks.
I liked it.
I don't know if they were showing 5-6 linebackers and then charging from different positions the whole game or just because they were behind in the 4th.
With those conditions it was a gut wrencher.
Our kicker was up to the task and FU's could not follow.

Agree with you Rat Linfields offense is not up to par and it starts at the QB don't know what the problem is but when I can see a blitz coming and I'm 40 yds away audible comes to me.

I'd add that the O-line has been banged up and it showed yesterday.
Go Cats!

+1 RFB.  It was a quality dig but my mom did tell me once I was very handsome so I know you are just lying!

O-Line is very unhealthy right now and a major concern along with QB play getting ironed out.

Andy,

Fox is in it for the long haul and will continue to push Linfield.  I agree too that's not a bad thing either.

+1 right back at ya WC11. Who am I to argue with Momma WC11.

Question for the group. What's the consensus on Jeff Thomas at Puget Sound. Is he doing a good job in building their program?

It seems almost every year, come playoff time, we lose some key starters.    Is this typical throughout D-III?    It seems this was not a yearly problem for MU or WWW.

Is it more so at Linfield?    If so, what can be done to prevent it?     Rest the injured for the next 3 weeks?    Play first stringers less in games where we are the heavy favorite?

All I know is we have had multiple years where I thought we could have gone to the Semis or even the Stagg Bowl if we had just two or three more starters still available for the game we lost.

Any thoughts from anyone??

George
