If anyone gets sent to Belton, I'll share it over some beers. You guys buy...
Count me in. Can you float me a C note?

No disrespect to the "Westish Region" teams, but any year UW-Whitewater isn't in the "Westish" I would definitely prefer that region over UMHB's "Southish Region," especially given UMHB's teams the last couple of years. Many years, Linfield was in the same region as some of the WIAC, MIAC & IIAC teams. But some years, especially the last couple, the 'Cats have been grouped in the UMHB bracket.

I think the UW-Oshkosh Region could end up being the deepest region (depending on who exactly is placed there), but the UMHB region will obviously have the best team in it, at least on paper. The good news is the 'Cats have shown the D can compete w/ UMHB, it's the other side of the ball we will need to have dramatically improved since the game against them earlier in the season.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

I think the NWC overall is just much stronger this year and that is a good thing and so you need to be ready to play each and every week.  Go Cats...finish strong at Pacific but don't look forward to the first round.  Let's win out and then worry about the playoffs.

I was thinking Linfield just wasn't as good this year. The conference was only 8-8 in pre conference games. I'd be happy if Linfield proves me wrong and makes a run in the playoffs.

Offensively yes, defensively this is one of the best Defenses I've seen at Linfield.  Eventually though, the offense has to produce or it's gonna burn ya.

Speaking of George Fox:

How is it that during home games, the GFU defense has average 47.6 assisted tackles per game while the visitor averages 28.8 assisted tackles per game.  But when GFU plays on the road their defensive assisted tackles drop down to 24 per game while the hosts average 26 per contest.

I mean...HOW is this possible that the Bruin assisted tackle numbers drop in half on the road?  ::)

And checking out the NWC stats page on total tackles is funny as hell if you sort by assisted tackles (http://www.nwcsports.com/sports/fball/2017-18/players?sort=dtt&view=&pos=d&r=0).  7 out of the top 14 defenders in the assisted tackles category all hail from Fox.

BTW....Assisted tackles for Fox this weekend vs PLU: 16.   They dropped down off their average by 30 assisted tackles per game.   ;D

Clearly the guy tracking defensive stats is the same guy reporting attendance numbers...

I believe the 'Cats D has given up 82 points this year. Which means if they can hold Pacific to 7 or less, their points allowed/per game average would be less than 10 for the regular season.

The "Wild" needs to get by Pacific... I think they have some weapons....

D O.C.

Did you and George Thompson have dinner tonight?

We know the playoffs start this Saturday.

Lighten up, Francis.

But I thought defenses win championships.

The conference is obviously stronger from top to bottom this year, although a few teams were slow to rev up or their records don't indicate their true nature. After viewing both teams, for instance, I was not surprised that plu beat fox. Plu played a very good game vs our cats.

I would think that a win Saturday is the bridge to a home game. The committee could send us sciac or hsu. I would expect Wyatt to throw the bail a lot. I would expect pathetic to play like this is the super bowl. I would expect to drink 37 beers.

I don't worry about the offense, although I wish they had more time. Hopefully they play a lot of tecmo bowl together.
Saturday will be the most epic tailgate ever, especially if my wife gives birth under the Quick-Shade.

Defenses win championships...let's hope the offense peaks in about 6 weeks!

Put the crack pipe down. Get past round one first, which is not a given.

While it makes me a little queasy to agree with RFB, he's right.  Even if round 1 is an "easy" opponent (which it won't be) we need much better production from the offense to win it and we'd need to have that offense "peak" for the most likely (assuming we got through HSU in round 1) 2nd round matchup with MHB.....

That being said--I like the optimism 64!
Go Cats!

A better question: will Linfield possibly travel for the first round?
