Now I agree with RFB.
I expect a replay af the NCAA noggin shakers to send LINFIELD back down to Abilene first thing.

Then, I don't know the formula for the brackets this year. N/E - S/W? S/E - N/W? N/S - E/W? They're shakin' their noggins right now.

Defenses win championships...let's hope the offense peaks in about 6 weeks!

Put the crack pipe down. Get past round one first, which is not a given.
While it makes me a little queasy to agree with RFB, he's right.  Even if round 1 is an "easy" opponent (which it won't be) we need much better production from the offense to win it and we'd need to have that offense "peak" for the most likely (assuming we got through HSU in round 1) 2nd round matchup with MHB.....

That being said--I like the optimism 64!

A better question: will Linfield possibly travel for the first round?
My feeling is that unless they lay an egg against Pacific this week they should have the home game in round 1.  They have the edge on criteria against either HSU or Chapman  (higher SOS anyway---I guess record against regionally ranked opponents is still up in the air depending on those rankings).  And the regular season matchups against MHB are not as different this year and they were last year.
Go Cats!

Wildcat'64

We'll know the Cats West ranking in a few hours but if they repeat their #2 ranking in the West as last week, I cannot see how the NCAA could possibly give them a travel game on the first game of the playoffs....seems a bit unfair but in retrospect they haven't always been fair to the Cats in the past!
LEAVE NO DOUBT

"Fair" is not one of the criteria used for bracket creation :)
Go Cats!

RFB

Linfield at Hardin-Simmons
Chapman at UMHB

Could happen, but agree a lot depends on this weekends results. You never know with the NCAA and what they will do.

Basically a repeat of last year---I still think HSU goes to Linfield this time around....
Go Cats!

Lets hope Cats get a home game if they win on Saturday. Knowing what has happened in the past with NCAA  I think the Cats  should put one hand over their mouth and one hand over their ass.

gren! Apologize immediately to that august body of the NCAA.
After sending us to Wesley anything is possible. If we have a road game right away I'd even buy a short notice ticket to go straight to Alliance, make them work for once, and get it over with.

RFB

I would like to see a Chapman/Linfield rematch in round one. Chapman's offense hitting on all cylinders against Linfield's stout defense would be intriguing and fun to watch.

Ask yourself again how you REALLY feel about rooting for Chapman.  8-)

Sending the undefeated 'Cats clear across the country to play a 1 loss (to a D3 team) Wesley in the 2nd round still takes the cake for me.

Plus, I now know there is another meaning (and pronunciation) for the word august.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

I guess the lesson from the NCAA is that while the reward for beating UMHB in the non-confernece would be great the punishment is equally as bad.

Just have to take care of business against Pacific, if we lose to the Boxers then we deserve where they send us.

Philosophy major, Foss, Came across the word way too much.

Those regional ranking do not portend for another visit to a winery.
