Anyway you slice it 2017 has been a great season for the Cats with the inexperience in the offensive skill positions and the injuries to the o-line and Fowler.  Heck of a coaching job if we finish the regular season at 8-1!

1,000x agree with this.

Agreed Cats have had a great season I've enjoyed every season since I can remember and always will, until I take my last breath. That could come at anytime. See you kids in Forest Grove. That's where Pacific is right?  :-*

One of the criteria also allows the committee to use the previous year's playoff results as a tiebreaker among unbeaten teams. Besides, let's be honest -- Mount Union should be the No. 1 team in the North as long as it is unbeaten.

Awesome!  Looks like HSU is coming to the Catdome then, right?  Our SOS is higher and we kicked their butt's at their place last year.  Perfect.  I love it when the committee uses logic to make decisions about the playoff brackets :)

Alas, the previous year's playoff results criterion ONLY applies to undefeated teams.  Sorry, and good luck.

which if funny since both teams have to be unbeaten (cough cough 2011 Wesley cough cough ahem)

2nd best SOS of ALL the regionally ranked teams, a regional win, and a 4 seed.  Doesn't add up.

If Linfield and any other team in the NWC was in the same spot as UMHB and HSU they would play each other in the first round. My opinion. Granted Pat said one criteria was past performance. Cats won at HSU last year so why should the Cats travel? Hand mouth hand ass get ready for the :"?><:

It's a tiebreaker for unbeaten teams, which doesn't really help Linfield.

Man, if this site's projected (emphasis on projected) playoff bracket is right, this would be the ideal scenario for the 'Cats, IMO, and there wouldn't be much to gripe about.

Home game against HS. Regardless of where played, this would be an extremely tough opponent. Heck, HS probably has the talent to win the region and has given UMHB their toughest game this season. But getting the game at home against them would be huge.

But, w/ UW-W not in this year AND both UMU and UMHB on the other side of the bracket, this would be a big break. Plus, if we got past HS, it would be nice to revisit history and possibly play Wartburg, then St. John's or UW-Oshkosh again.

Anyway, interesting projection. And I'll say again, even the first round game against HS would be a major battle.

I'll echo the coaching job this season, especially considering how young this team was and the continuous O-line injuries.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

D O.C.

Projection fun game to play for fantasy footballers.
I've learned to wait until Sunday, 2:30 pm PST.

I think this is one of those years where no matter who we face and where we face them---the first round will be a challenge....

Even a rematch w/ Chapman this season wouldn't be an easy first round game.

Also, as I mentioned in a previous post, there are going to be a bunch of really good teams in whichever region we're put in. I mean, UW-O, SJU, HS, Illinois Wesleyan, Wartburg, Linfield. That's 5 teams from the current top 11 and 6 from the current top 18. Talk about a number of teams w/ cases that could made for them to win it. Although if UW-O ends up going undefeated in the WIAC, that says something.

Would still prefer that to an early trip to the CRUthedral, though.

At any rate, eyes on Pacific, and hopefully positive momentum from this game heading into the playoffs, regardless of who we play and where.
