I'm guessing there are more cameras this season.
I'm guessing there's a production crew working those cameras under the guidance of a director

I noticed many a play that began with a ground level shot and then cut to a better overhead.
If my hunches are true, they should get better with every home game.
Especially if it's a production class of some kind. Like the team, they'll watch "film" and critique what they did and how to improve.

DOC,

If speaking in your preferred first language, did you mean something along the lines of:

"I'm guessing the production crew will attempt to be more offensive as the year progresses. They don't necessarily need to spend as much time focusing on the long field shots, as they have the tools and talent to methodically put together higher percentage views. If they get a bit defensive at times, which they have this year, that's not a bad thing. Hopefully their transmission signal won't be intercepted as frequently and their overall student turnover rate for this class will decrease."

Okay, see now why you're the one who needs to be doing this? Only you have the natural knack for it. It's a gift. You've been fortunate enough to have been given it. Use it - please.

I suck at it.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Oline needs to get things figured out... wouldn't matter who was playing QB that second half with all the pressure being applied...guys were getting beat left and right from what I saw...
D is playing really well...

Would really, really, really like to see a new play caller for the Cats... we are entirely too predictable on 1st down... it is going to be a stretch run to the wide side of the field 80% of the time... I'd also like to see some up tempo.. don't know why we don't see more of that...

Usually on the first play our QB gets the ball and pivots right or left and stays stationary.... turns to his side and has the ball held out in front of him with both hands for what seems to be 2-3 seconds. Then he hands it to the running back on on a slow developing off tackle sweep that goes for about 3 yards and a cloud of black pellet dust.   8-)

Agree about the up tempo. Thought we did that a time or two against Carroll and it resulted in taking them off guard a bit, resulting in positive gains. Would like to see more of it, too.

It's actually not anymore -- Whitworth put in turf last year or so.

I'm not sure why with the (generally speaking) size/talent discrepancy between the Linfield OL and "most" NWC/SCIAC D-lines that the Wildcats don't have more of a power running game. I mean, even out of the shotgun you can implement something other than stretch/zone blocking schemes.

I would at least have some more single wing type formations, counter and lead blocking schemes even if I decided that I want QB in the shotgun every play. I'm sure they do, but as a more casual viewer of Linfield football I would say the same thing as those above me. It sure does seem like Linfield runs a stretch zone almost exclusively.

I don't know much about O-Line but I remember back in the day when there used to be a lot of trap blocking and I remember the guards would pull out and be lead blockers along with the fullback. Things must be much more complicated than they look to me but now I see either a zone block scheme where they are just blocking whoever is in front of them basically trying to overpower the defenders with a big old bunch of big dudes going left or right..... or they hunker back into a C shape for a pass. I have no idea what they are doing other then those 2 things. I know the tight end sometimes puts a hit on somebody at an angle also. I wish I knew more about it.

I agree

We'll never know, but I'm kind of wondering how practices went this week at Pacific, Willamette, Lewis & Clark, Puget Sound and noluteland.
The idea is to do it again next game.
Let's pick who will...

It's true I'm medication adled, but I don't remember every NWC team having a bye week the same time like this Saturday.
Every team does not play!

I believe some of the coaches (not all) in the NWC called for this because they think that it's unfair advantage for one team to have a bye while another doesn't.   ::)

Interesting.
Bye = no income

Perhaps they'll all get on the same page again and add a 10th game. 😶

And then there's that Round-Robin thing with the SCIAC that could be an interesting experiment.

.... stupid in my opinion. When Linfield has a bye it usually gives me a chance to see another 2 teams play at a nearby venue.... not this year. Even WOU is out of town.....  :-\
