Whomever executes best and has fewest turnovers might win.

Or the team that scores the most will probably win....unless all those scores get called back for penalties..... ::)
Go Cats!

Bluenote,

WOW!   And, I thought I was tough.    Hopefully it will all change today.

Both QBs need a chance to play and possibly other starters should be changed.    But, maybe the coaches have it all ironed out.    They always get the job done!     I am sure they are also disappointed so far.

Yet, here is my prediction:   Linfield 28, Whitworth 21.

GO CATS! GO!

PS  Can't get to a computer until tomorrow; will be headed to the game!

LEAVE NO DOUBT

Congratulations to Whitworth – the Pirates were the better team today. And, from the looks of things thus far, will be this season.

We've enjoyed the best nine-year run in Northwest Conference history and one of the best in college football at any level: eight league titles, one co-championship, three national semifinal appearances, two more that ended in the quarterfinals, at least a first-round playoff win for nine straight years, only one conference loss ... it's quite a list.

We were probably overdue for a season like this. And, like the loss to Willamette in 2014, it could do the Wildcats some good. Too long a stretch of too many things coming too easily can make things stale, and it might be valuable to get shaken up a bit and reevaluate some things, or at least realize success isn't guaranteed.

It's not to write off the rest of 2018, but the way things have gone to this point I could live with scratching out four more wins somewhere and looking to a fresh start in 2019.

Go 'Cats.

I figured going into the game the Linfield was still more talented that the Pirates. Now I'm not so sure. Whitworth's offense looked really good in the 3rd quarter, but the defense was the difference. Linfields offense is struggling but this is probably the best Whitworth's front 7 has looked against the Linfield OL since 2007. New D coordinator deserves some credit IMO, Shamion called a good game and really has had the Pirates D in good positions through the first 3 games.

I'm sure the Wildcat QB is a real nice kid but he's not gonna cut it. Now would be a great time for the offensive coaches to adapt. And this winter/spring would be a good time to go search for the next DI stud transfer at quarterback.

I think Linfield's feeble performance on offense really helped Whitworth's offense---our D was on the field so much that they were just worn down.  had we been able to sustain some drives and give the D more breathers it could have gone different there in the 4th.  Whitworth'd D played well but I don't think they are as good as the score indicated---I say this, not as a slam on them but as a commentary on how bad our offense was today (and all season).  Playoffs for the RATS might be when we find out the truth here....
Go Cats!

3 yards rushing on 28 attempts for the 'Cats?!?!?!

Whitworth has good D-line, but it's not like UMHB moved to Spokane.

I fear if we played the real UMHB, we'd have -133 rushing yards.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

You gotta have a QB who is capable of scrambling. When was the last time the 'cats had a QB that couldn't?

All the more reason a QB is needed to scramble.

my point is that this loss was not just due to poor QB play—the entire offense stunk it up
Go Cats!

D O.C.

How about the teams being not so special?
...oh, sorry, that was a play on words... how about the special teams stinking too?

D O.C.

Lewis & Clark puts up 39 on Willamette and gives up 21.
