Coach mentioned around the 9 minute mark that it was difficult to schedule and possibility of going to Linfield. I thinking there should be a Northwest Conference/NJAC challenge...Thoughts???

Just love to have some NWC (read LINFIELD) pre-conference match-ups.
Good for the student athletes.
Good for the schools.
Good for the conferences.
Not good on the pocketbook me thinks.

I believe that Linfield has a open slot still open for 2019.  That would be pretty cool to have Rowan come back out.

They'd come back with revenge in their hearts, for sure.

QuoteYeah UMHB is on another level. MUC may be the only other team in the country capable of playing them within a possession or two, let alone beating them.

Especially since the Stagg is being played in TEXAS.

A Jonnie/Tommie Stagg in Minnesota would pull 50,000.  Watch the NCAA make it happen.

Lord knows the fine people of MSP aren't rushing to go see a Gophers game, so a Tommie/Johnnie game would probably get a ton of interest from those wanting to see some good college football.

Andy Jamison - Walla Walla Wildcat

Been lurking this year on the boards.. which are not unsurprisingly a bit slow with the Wildcats having a down year.  I've seen all their games (went to Helena) and it seems like we have to go back to 2008 to find our offense struggling so much.  Don't know if it is because the O-line just isn't getting it done.  Or is it the play calling being too predictable?  I think that the offense is really missing Kyle Kimball as once he started playing in 2017 the offense picked up.  I don't think that our receivers scare any one as I've seen a ton of press coverage with no safety help and we haven't been able to beat that all year.  That allows the defense to stack against the run.

As for the QB position, I'd have like to have seen Hazlett get some playing time early if for no other reason than how it looks from a recruiting and political angle.  Right now there isn't a recruit who is going to come to Linfield to play QB as it won't seem like they'd get a fair shot as the head coaches kid is the QB.  Do I really think that Joe wouldn't play the best QB if it meant his kid sat?  I think that he would sit his kid...

But, this is a really dangerous time for the Cats program given how important the QB position is and how it looks having the head coaches son playing QB.  He has done an okay job but not enough to justify not giving Hazlett series during games on a regular basis.  Granted, i'm not at practice and only have my game day observations.

I would like to see all 3 QBs get the ball out of their hands sooner than they do.  I have watched warmups and each is throwing the ball with zero anticipation of when the receiver is making his final break. Someone needs to bust out a whistle and tweet it during practice at the exact time the ball should be in the air.

Yeah, it's 155 miles from UMHB the next two years. Then, it's going to be in Canton, OH - which is 20 miles from The Mount. Could be some large crowds the next four years if the right team/s make it.

By the way, I'll be pulling for Whitworth and the SCIAC champ to do well. And I didn't mean to make it sounds like UMHB is unbeatable this year. Heck, we beat them in TX a few years ago when we came in w/ 1 loss and they were ranked #2, like they are currently this season. So, obviously anything can happen. But, the last few years and esp this one, they seem to really be dropping a lot of serious beatdowns on their opponents. Some of their games this year should border on assault.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

You did so in a completely inappropriate way, and I hope you know this. However, I won't discuss this or anything else with you on the boards beyond this.

Andy, good observations.    Don't be a stranger; you always have some wise observations.

Pat, what did you mean by inappropriate?

In defense of Bluenote, with all due respect to Mount Union,  look at their schedule every year.    Usually just one tough team each year, John Carroll recently.     Their opener is always a non-conference patsy.    Linfield goes out of its way to play tough non-conference games.

Then the playoffs.    Every playoff game is at home, always a major advantage.   The first two rounds are against teams that would not finish 2nd, maybe not even 3rd, in the top conferences.    Bluenote was not inaccurate.    Again this is not meant as any disrespect to Mount.     Heaven knows their 20+ year record is astonishing!
