GT....I, for one, believe PC when he says that's the end of it.

"The opener is always a non-conference patsy" Mount Union has opened the season against UW-Lacrosse, UW-Whitewater, UW- Oshkosh, St John Fisher. There are, admittedly, some less glamorous openers over the years. Not everyone wants to open the season against the Raiders. And Mount schedules years in advance. Pat Coleman has even said they schedule "too far" in advance.
Right now, we are scheduled for the next 5 years. Who knows what teams will be like down the road.
Maybe "tough non-conference teams" would rather play Linfield than Mount Union. Who knows?
This has been discussed so many times before. I quit.

The real reason I posted was to congratulate Linfield on it's 63rd consecutive winning season. That's a very impressive achievement. If it's not an all-time record, it should be. Best to you on the rest of the season. Malama pono (ask Coco) and aloha.

MUC57,

Wow!  I did not know that.   Five years
You make some valid points.    All I know is every other year, we have trouble finding opponents.     Part of it is we are so far away from every other conference.     It is always an expensive trip: plane fare and usually a hotel cost.

I would love to see Linfield meet Mount Union (not this year,  though).

Thanks for the feedback and your congratulations.

I'm not a football analyst but how does Linfield go from a perennial top 5 team to the basement in 1 year?

Bluenote,
I am often critical, but we are not in the basement.     We can finish 7-2.     We could have been 9-0, but our offense did not produce vs. Carroll or Whitworth.   Our QB did have his best game ever against PLU on Saturday.     Yet, the Lutes are a shadow of what they used to be.    So, it is really tough to see how we will do against any playoff team.

I would love another shot at Whitworth, but we will see.     We must win out and hopefully one more Pool C candidate will stumble.

Thanks for your comments. I always read your posts.
I understand the problems Linfield would have scheduling because of their island location. And I do know they never shy away from tough teams. Hey! I'm a fan. Coco and Mrs. Coco won me over years ago. My past posts would show my support for the 'Cats and the catdome fans.
I hope you win out. End the season on an up note and go at it next year. And get back to the top, where you belong! Go 'Cats!
Oh! I would also like to see a Mount Union - Linfield game (in Alliance, hopefully). Came close a few years back but, as we know, close only counts in horseshoes and .........! Go get 'em!
One more thing. You should see the looks I get when I wear my Linfield sweatshirt on the Mount campus. Ya gotta love it!

MUC57,

One of these falls, I may just make a trip to Alliance to see Mount Union in person.   Heck, at my age, I may not be able to wait for a Linfield vs. Mount Union game.    I don't have a bucket list, but if I did, seeing Mount Union play in person would be on it.   The more I think about, we will try to do it next fall!

GT...I should have gone to that outlier schedule filling game at Carnegie Mellon. There was a caravan to Alliance to see UMU play after the game.

I was there...for a "filling game" Case Western was a tough out !

Hope you do make it to Alliance. Do it soon though. At my age, I might not be able to show you around and have a cold one or ten. (Note my signature at the bottom). Go 'Cats! (Raiders too)!

Thank-you PC.
You can tell something's wrong.
At least I'm 100% cancer free for now.
Common sense says I lay off social media for now.
Nah, I've already read 11 books in the last 5 months.
And you CalCat, stay out of the sun or you'll end up like me.
