;D  Uh, thanks Duffman. It's just this book on Freud I've been trying to get through, you know, it's long and technical and....I dunno!

Good luck, Whitworth. Hopefully you'll beat CMS and show up respectably vs. SJU.

I'm encouraged by WC11's comments regarding Whitworth's chances vs. HSU (not that you'll see them). It sounds like the Pirates, who would be more than capable of beating the Cowboys, might give SJU (who has beat the hell out of a tough MIAC) a respectable game, although would still be a huge underdog to what appears to be one of the best Johnnies' teams in years.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

So what are the chances of ML beating STJ?

Beating STJ?  The chance is excellent.

Beating SJU?  That chance is zero.

Put the money down on getting out to MN.  It's a bucket list location for any D3 fan and would be worth it.

I dunno, 11, the chatter is pretty confident over on the UMAC board.

Problem is l don't think Chatter is going to suit up !

I think you guys are forgetting what you got as an undefeated NWC team.  I don't think they would have sent Linfield to Mary Hardin-Baylor in the 2nd round if they didn't have that loss on the resume.  2015, 2013 and 2012 Linfield got two home games before facing the other top team in that 8 team pod.

It really depends on the regional rankings. An undefeated Whitworth that won the NWC in 2006 got to play St. John's at home in the second round. If this year's team had been ranked higher than St. John's then I would imagine they too would have gotten a second round home game. In the last decade Linfield has had one more 2nd round away game than home. It's not as if the NWC champ getting sent to Belton, MSP, somewhere in WI for the second round is abnormal.

Or an undefeated 2011 NWC champ 'Cats being sent clear across the entire country to Delaware to play a 1 loss (to a D3 team) Wesley IN THE SECOND ROUND. That one is still a head-scratcher for many, including Coach Smith who called BS on that decision when it was made.

I will say I think many of the undefeated NWC champs, whether it be Linfield, Whitworth or Willamette, have been given more than their share of home games. But there are years like 2011 that make the NWC champ wonder every year what the hell the NCAA has in store for them.

Seeing our season was over in the first two games I'm going to blame Whitworth's #4.
He personally killed the two crucial throws into the end zone and took away 12-14 of our points.
I don't know if it was Hall but 509 or 89 should set me straight.

It would be nice if he kept that play up.

I think CMS may give Whitworth a run for their money.... Wasn't Whitworth behind Pacific.... 16-0 and finally squeaked by? Not sure what happened... can't wait! Post season is always so fun! If they get past CMS.... they will definitely dominate the Johnnies at SJU.  :o

Blue-  Just like Linfield?   :) ;)

You west coast guys don't like Minnesota in December much.

Thanks.  I took a 10 month sabbatical from PP.

I was really hoping this would be the year we meet in McMinville for a playoff game.  Just can't seem to get the stars aligned.

I think we'll be seeing an all D3 schedule for Linfield next year.

D O.C.,

It was much more than that.   I was at the game and sat close to the Whitworth team (no choice!).    From the get-go, they were much more enthusiastic  and ready to play.   They really, really wanted to beat us.    The final score did not reflect that they clearly outplayed the Wildcats.    They dominated both sides of the line play.    We gained a whole 3 yards on the ground; they gained 102.

We completed 25% of 3rd downs; Whitworth completed 47%.     And that awful third quarter.    It is rare that we get beat badly in the third quarter; but, we did.     A total mismatch in the 3rd Qtr.

In summation, it was a repeat of the Carroll game.    We were not ready to play our A game.

Despite all that, Whitworth is a very good team.    Yes, they had some lapses, but they kept getting better all year long.    I would have loved to have had a second shot at them;  but, not sure we could beat them this year.

The SCIAC board shows some predictions that CMS might pull off an upset.     Look at the four common opponents:
                              Whitworth            CMS
Puget Sound            45-13                   35-45 lost
PLU                          55-13                     7-10 lost
LaVerne                   38-2                     37-24
Chapman                 31-28                     16-9

Whitworth will be hyped up, just like they were for Linfield.      Whitworth  40-10.
