Love me some GT.  ;)

The NWC is being very unfair with us. Unbelieveably unfair. Sad.

Go Cats!

The Lutes played two years in a row at the Catdome during my run. Back in the days of natural grass and couches.

How well does Witworth travel?  Who's making the trek to the frozen tundra?

When we played at Whitworth in 2005 (I think, close enough) we had a charter that made it a one day trip.  The Whitworth fans were pretty surprised when our four busses rolled up.

It was fairly cold that day, not Minnesota cold. And a fair amount of snow on the ground..

They chartered a flight down to Hardin Simmons for a regular season game years ago. No idea if there are plans to do that this weekend or not. I imagine it will just be some of the parents of players. Maybe a few alumni who now live in the Midwest? I'd be surprised if it's more than 100 Whitworth fans.

How do you come out with this stuff? You definitely March to the beat of a different drummer!
How was Thanksgiving at the mission? Bet it was crowded. Lots of winos, I mean, gentlemen of the streets. Did you go back for seconds? Did you wear your Linfield sweatshirt? Go 'Cats!
I'm old! I get mixed up and I forget things! Go Everybody! 🏈 ☠

Not sure that opinions matter that much when they play each year. This year's game wasn't close...

Great interview with Whitworth HC in the pod. I really enjoyed listening to him. Good luck in your game tomorrow.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

1. So--unless we decide to go to a 10 game season we are almost always going to face a team with 1-2 games under their belt.  I think going to Rowan is going to be an awesome experience for the players and any fans that make the trip (maybe you could look into flights).  Also--it's a D3 game so that's great--probably not very easy for CATS to find non-conference D3 opponents to schedule so I think this is great.

2.  As others have explained--this is still fallout from George Fox's decision to hit "pause" on their first season which created a mess with the conference schedule.  Yeah it sucks but it is what it is.

Bottom line George---if we lose 2 games, it's because we didn't play well enough on those 2 days to win.  You sound as if you just want the CATS to schedule easy wins so they can return to the playoffs (untested) rather than challenging themselves and creating great experiences for the players, their families, and the fans.    ???

Anyway--Happy Thanksgiving to all!

MonroviaCat,   Easy game was not my point.   Primarily it is 3,000 miles away and our first game; that stacks the odds against us.    I remember that Wesley playoff game and of course the Carroll game.    Rowan and Whitworth look like our two toughest games -- both away.

I have a nephew in Philadelphia, so we will try to go to the game.

d-train,

I assume you mean next year's Whitworth game.    How does the NWC select the game schedules?

I almost forgot it was football season.   :P

It is - and you can take your Halloween costume off now.
(yes, you may still sleep in it on weekends)

At least SJU gets to play UMHB in the 3rd round unlike us who usually play them in the 2nd. Lots of complaints again this year on the brackets.... especially UMU and Brockport brackets..... I can see their points...... But I don't care.... LOL!  :-X

Must say that I am not thrilled with our schedule makers... flying all the way to Rowan then flying to Redlands... are we that hard up to find teams to play us that we have to open two consecutive seasons with super long road trips?  Granted, playing within D3 is much better than playing vs NAIA but still I question the planning that allows this to happen two years in a row (a long road trip for the first game).

It would seem that more D3 teams should be wiling to do a home and home with us now that it looks like we have dropped off a bit from the talent level of a few years ago.

I know that I'm a bit of a broken record on this topic, but I'd like to see our o-line scheme change to a more attacking the line of scrimmage vs all this zone stuff.  Our blocking scheme seems stagnant as compared to what I'm seeing from other teams.  It works against okay defenses but fails against stout ones.

Will next year be "Leave no Doubt II"... similar circumstances as a loss to a NAIA school plus a loss to the NWC champion.

Oh ye of little faith. I'm an outsider but I know Linfield well enough to know they'll be back. Hey, you have good coaching, talented athletes and a record string of consecutive winning seasons. Don't give up on them. So, Go 'Cats! 😃 ❗️
