What happens when you lose 2 games on an island....

1 West Coast player period.   Me thinks it matters not if you have 2 wins or 0....when you are on an Island....
Go Cats!

Unless you have a run deep in the playoffs, the West Coast is ignored.    16 teams out of the 230?     The rest are all way east of here.

Now if we beat Rowan and go undefeated and reach at least the quarter-finals, that could change next year.      A lot of if's, though.

But, this year's AA team is understandable.    Whitworth did well, but St. John's was loaded this year---and will be again next year.
M H-B has elevated their program the last three years.    Beating both St. John's and UW-Whitwater is a rare feat for anyone.

'Cats have some spots to back fill but I'm expecting the 'Cats to put out a strong product on the field next season. I'm expecting a couple of changes that could help out.

Given the fact it looks like UMHB is going to be in the NWC champ's playoff "region" for the foreseeable future, it's hard for me not to take serious notice of what is being created down in Belton. And the likelihood of seeing them a lot (and possibly fairly early) in the postseason.

Now they've decided to start beating UW-W by 3 scores - a team they had a worse record against (0-5) than they did the 'Cats before getting their first W.

On the plus side, I'm encouraged that SJU was right there w/ them, and Whitworth hung w/ the Johnnies for a half+. Although football math such as this isn't always the most reliable. So I'm not sure just how big of a gap there was between UMHB and the NWC champ this season. Out of respect for the 'Cru and what they've accomplished, I'm going to error on the side of "substantial."

That said, I can't wait for the 'Cats to hopefully get back into the postseason next year. I like what I believe we'll be capable of in 2019.

And heck, there might be two NWC teams if Whitworth has a season like this year's again. Looking forward to that NWC matchup, as well.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.
