What about UR is a big test? LF could have put 100 on SF. LF just took down a D2 team and ranked #11. UR is not ranked and beat the lower half of the NWC.
I would have LF a 10 point favorite. UR weakest link on D is their DB's, UR has never been able to run the ball on LF. The only thing we have that will give LF some fits is our QB. He is very mobile and more accurate than 2019. However UR O line is the weak link on O, they have been rotating guys start a freshman. The big and slow, a formula that does not bode well against LF's 2 deep front.

Olddog...Do you know what happened to RB Mason Carvalho?  Believe he was a freshman last Redlands/ Linfield clash and he combined with Martinez were an outstanding tandem.

If memory serves plain quit, talked about JC route ....I never asked around. So not 100% positive.
Less than two more years of Gavin.

9 penalties for 82 yards worries me about the next game.

I know that several of you Linfield fans are not happy with the quality of the home game video that is being shown. If you would like to help donate some $$$ to help resolve the issue, please contact me at andrew@main-avenue.com.  It sounds like the thing that is needed is $35k.

Hook a brother up for some new gear!  ;)

Curious what it is that worries you about the defense?  -11 yards rushing allowed.  7-points allowed by the starting defense?  I thought the D looked pretty darn good.  And while I agree that SF wasn't a great team, they still had some big athletic dudes allowing them to break off a few big plays.  That being said, they only had 4 drives that were more than 5 plays the entire game.  So honestly, I am curious what you saw in the D that made you concerned?

I do agree that Redlands will be a challenge---probably the best team we will play this year (outside of the playoffs).

Our rushing defense looked excellent for the first game.   Redlands QB is very good.   Will be a big challenge for our defense.   Playing in their stadium will be a huge challenge.

Can you elaborate on what that 35K would be buying?
Go Cats!

Great effort by the 'Cats.  Caught the end of the Pacific/P-P game.  Nice comeback win by Pacific and GFU with a strong effort against Chapman.

Saw UPS just pee down their legs vs Cal Lutheran too.  Whitworth continues to win but not by blow away scores...

D O.C.

George, were you at the Redlands game?

Seen a lot of Linfield football over the years and this current version at Redlands is easy to get excited about. Physicality...speed...discipline...depth were all on display. Redlands wasn't that bad...Linfield was just that good. Offensive and defensive lines dominate. QB1 in total control of well planned and called game plan. Defensive made life miserable for Redlands QB1 all night long. Redlands will be right there for SCIAC title which will probably be decided when Chapman visits on October 23rd. Oh and did anyone notice SF gave Central Washington a ball game. No problem for the Cat's getting out of the starting blocks early season this year. Catdome South has never looked better !

They remind me of our 14/15 teams the more see them but with more defensive line depth. NWC will have a number of challenges but I'm loving what I see so far.

George, were you at the Redlands game?
No, we were planning to go, but business interfered.    Redlands website finally had the video and sound for the 2nd half.

I was VERY pleasantly surprised.  Congrats to Coach Smith and his assistants.   What great recruiting they did in the last 18 months.

This year's team is so new and young.    Bodes well for the next few years.    May be the best since 2015.

Congrats to our offensive line for their award  "D3football.com Team of the Week":

"OL Taylor Adams, Diego Rodriguez, Bailey Lee, Julien Sears, Matt Metcalf, Linfield
The offensive line played a big role in Linfield's 51-10 win against Redlands. The Wildcats finished with four rushing touchdowns, three pass touchdowns, 6.4 yards per play and 498 yards of total offense."

By the way, where are all the NWC fans?   Hardly anyone is posting this year.

Thanks to Coco and Mrs. Coco, I'm a Linfield fan. They even got me a Linfield sweatshirt which I proudly wear from time to time.
I don't post over here too often but I closely follow the NWC and the Wildcats every week.
I wish you guys the best for the season (uh, until you meet Mount Union). Go 'Cats!  ;D
I'm old! I get mixed up and I forget things! Go Everybody! 🏈 ☠
