Watching the Wash Huskies /WashSt Cougars..
The Wash St QB, Cameron Ward, played his high school ball at West Columbia HS, West Columbia, TX, just south of Houston.

I recommend a fun book to read on the origin and history of the Air Raid Offense, The Perfect Pass: American Genius and the Reinvention of Football by SC Gwynne.

Same kid from UIW in San Antonio last year...who transferred.

You're going to be even more crabby next year, George.

We'll see. Tons of talent back and we lose a number of guys up front in, I think we'll be better there than most Linfield fans initially think.

I believe we potentially have same talent level next year as we have enjoyed this year. We lose guys up front but have sophomore/ junior guys that are ready to contribute on the o-line. We have as great a stable of RB's and WR's coming back as any one could hope for and a very good QB with his 1st starting season behind him. We lose some on d-line but got guys ready to step in and continue our great tradition. Our young secondary improved a bunch from a shaky start and will be better out of the gate.  Staff will figure out where we need to get better with returning talent. One area l would like to see is a better short passing game we can go to in order to deal with the kind of pressure we saw on our QB yesterday. We got the long ball down but when taken away from us with a strong rush our QB needs to have a short game available to keep opponents rush game honest. Busy time for the staff as they continue to recruit Linfield quality men for the future of the program which they obviously get done year in and year so we all get to enjoy one of the top small college programs over the last 66 year. I have no doubt we will be a nasty one to deal with next year.

Totally agree 11 we will be good. Great run Wildcats in the end there will only be one team that is happy about the season.

George, WC11 can hopefully confirm this, I understand we scheduled Carrol again next year.

wildcat11

Yes, Linfield did schedule NAIA Carroll (MT).

George Thompson

Yes.   But, that is good because Carroll should be a good stiff test each year.   Who is our other non-conference game?    Berry?

I would like to see us play a strong Minnesota or Wisconsin team every year.

Assume it's Redlands again...or someone from the SCIAC (?)

Bethel made plays most of the day, especially their tall receiver, and they gave their qb time to throw the ball. They were a very good team and I hope they beat UMHB next week. I find it a little odd that there were no called penalties all game on Bethel (along with a few questionable calls on Linfield). Even though everyone with a pair of eyes saw several in plain view..... Those were SCIAC officials BTW. I know it doesn't do any good to complain about officials but I saw what I saw.

I might have even seen one on video but not going to make a three-score difference. Bethel with Roste healthy and clicking is a really good team.

Have to give Bethel credit for playing mistake free football.  If they play like that against UMHB, who knows.

Penalties aside, I agree Roste is playing better and better each week, and Bethel has some elite D3 WR's. But Linfield has to be at least a little bit over rated as they only scored 13 pts as a top 5 offense nationally. Bethel's defense is ranked #100 (#4 in the MIAC) and only 3 teams on Bethel's schedule scored fewer points and in their 6 close games opponents have scored an average of 25 pts a game.

Been that way all season. That's who Bethel is, they don't make mistakes. Last week against Wheaton zero sacks, zero turnovers and only 2 penalties. They are top 10 in the country in penalties against, Roste has thrown only 6 INT's and they have lost just 4 fumbles all season and rank in top 10 nationally for fewest sacks allowed. This isn't new vs Linfield.
